It’s been all the talk in our house today.

Is that ALL this commotion has been about- another effing network player?! It looks distinctive but of no use to this user at all.

Is the preamp section analogue or digital?

Not for me in my all-analogue world, but it's a nice idea and neat looking. The modular amp seems like a good idea in terms of flexibility and keeping down the box count.

Is Selekt the new Akurate?
It certainly looks a lot nicer.

Interestingly, the report talks of a new SO too, presumably available in October to the existing DS owners. I wonder if they’ve finally cracked the need to tweak SO.

Also, is it on three feet?

Finally, is that what all the fuss was about?

Is that all?

Well, at least it sounds like there is a new SO version that should benefit all users for free...

Yeah, think so - designed to tie in with the top dial by the looks of it.

I wonder how long they agonised over that - i.e. 1 or 2 feet at the front.

The controls are central so shouldn't tip over.

First time that I've heard it referred to as "Linn’s Space Optimisation DSP technology ..."

Its a nice looking Uniti competitor.

If that's the full story then much fuss over very little.

Now can we have the Linn forums back please? :-)

TBH the Exakt launch was a much bigger thing than this, and they managed to keep that secret without any forum impact. (At least I had no clue, until the day of release at 14:00 hours exaktly.)

Unless something else is coming...

I might have had a bit of fun on this thread at Linn's expense, but the new box does look very nice and even if not for the majority here I'm sure there's a market for it.

If I had one criticism of the design though :-)

That motif on the top looks a bit 1980's and already dated

Everything else about it looks good

Don’t worry SO will correct for that :-))
Probably an early mock-up for photography but worrying no one picked it up. They can’t even level up an LP12 properly in the current forum shots so what do you expect.

I see the power amp is “bridged Class D” so they are working on the technology.
