A. The in wall Komponents mentioned above seem to have some real timing advantages over the Espeks
B. Assuming that's down in part to the 2k array, would Majik 140's be a significant upgrade on the Espeks?
Yes I think so. I've had Ninkas for several years and now have the Komponent 110's. For me they are a very big upgrade from the Ninkas. I have compared the Komponent 110's to the Espeks at my dealer and I think (and some Linn representatives I talked to) that the Komponent 110 is much better, (tunedem) then the Espeks. I know some people got upset when I said that on the Linnforum, but it is still true...
And since the Majik 140's are better then the Komponents, with a more full range sound, I think that Majik 140 is a safe bet as an upgrade from Espeks. Go for it! You know you like the *k arrays!
An even better buy might be the Akurate 212 with stands for £1795? On ebay.co.uk right now...
*sigh* The dealer in Stockholm said the same thing about Komponent when they first arrived, but changed his mind later. My impression is that komponent performance varies quite a lot from pair to pair. But what do i know.
It bugs the hell out of me that they are 4-way. Active gets sooo expencive with all the new speakers!
