Looking forward to hearing 148/9 vs 146 (& 155). I've always found dialing in speakers for that magically musical position to be really difficult, so it's really helpful to review these clips and hear the differences just a few centimeters (or millimeters) can make.

I listened to the Klyde first clip and thought it sounded really good. My kind of system. Moving onto the AT was broadly similar but much easier to follow. More vitality too. Glad your gamble has paid off.

Not sure between old Klyde and new AT33 - what happens when you want to play (AT)45s? ;) AT33 clearer but not better... What's the price difference between Klyde, when new, and AT33 (vs new Adikt :)

Judging by maffe's clips, and other reviews, trade options might be worth exploring: AT for Adikt, and Linto for Slipsik, and the Slipsik has similar footprint to the Linto 1 so as not to disturb your finely balanced shelving arrangement... Factor in stylus replacement on the Adikt vs new moving coil cartridges and you can afford to keep playing LPs and recording clips for a good while yet :) Feel free to *plan* your retirement for as long as you want... Take a few years & more over the plan if you need to - make sure you have it just right before any serious consideration of actual retirement from this forum :) (don't care about the other forums/fora ;)

Just to stop speculations on my behalf (I am not that comfortable being the target of the discussion. :-)):

My plan was/is to send my Klyde to Goldring at some point getting it fixed. In the meantime the AT will certainly do. The AT33 is in the same price range as the Adikt and when used a trade-in price if buying new AT is possible.
The Klyde was 2x the price of the AT33 when bought.

Can only agree with you all about the diffence, I did a few more slipsik vs adsm and now the adsm is disconnected and up for sale. The slipsik has taken its place in the shelf, so nothing standing on top = WAF restored ;)
Can’t justify keeping the adsm only as an hdmi switch for the appleTV...
I’m going to miss the adsm, it plays well and is a great product with excellent interface and features.

Very interesting comparison! I prefer the AT33 in this case. Seem to be an affordable cartridge.

I clearly prefer even the worn-out Klyde to the AT33, the groove goes missing on the AT and I don't feel like dancing anymore.
As for the ADSM against the Slipsik, that latter wins hands down.

Sorry beck, I prefer your old Klyde too. The AT still appears to have that typical AT of old impressive but slightly unmusical sound which I’ve never really liked.

It’ll be interesting to see how you get on with it over time.

I did not expect the same kind of “real world” sound from the AT. The Klyde in my system is a full body sound with sweat and tears and does not try to show the music from the neat and tidy side. This is the reason why I like it so much.
The AT is trying to show the neat and tidy side of things. It does things that the Klyde could never try to do (even when new) but in a slightly “hifi” impressive way.
Because of my systems ability to “groove” along I still do enjoy the AT while taking advantage of it’s super tracking. It can really be heard on the inner groove of the records.

What I have heard so far with the AT is music that does not get the full body of the music out to the listener but plays with finesse and control still “grooving” when the music calls for it. I can relax into the music and let my thoughts fly and that is a good sign.

For now I am pleased with the result and I am looking forward to how it will evolve in the time to come.

I prefer Slipsik before ADSM in Maffes clips. Its quite a big difference. Great comparison! Although I don´t like the musik so much in the first example it was so clear it came through so much better with Slipsik. I liked the music more in the second clip but the difference was not so clear as in the first one. Still Slipsik was better.

I like the Klyde better as well. Although I can hear it is worn, it still boogies better than the AT. But the AT should hold you until you have the rebuild done and it gets you back to records.

On the Slipsik vs. ADSM as a phono stage, the Slipsik 7 is clearly more musical on both tracks. It only took the bell on the second one to hear how much more was going on with the Slipsik 7. All that followed reinforced it.
