Glad it wasn't just me - just thought it was my regular reaction to amplification that must not be Naim'd... Warming to the 160 tho' (but would still prefer to hear a Tundra ;)

First of all, what a great system you have there kallesprätt 👍

I’m going to go for No1. Even though on the LC track the bass doesn’t seem so well controlled as No2, generally it feels more musical to me.

I kind of agree with Spannko. If I had to live with either of these two options for a long time I think 1 would be the one.
I like some of the changes that 2 introduce but it does not hit a home run.

More work to be done! :-)

Now I have made some new adjustments.

Leonard Cohen 1:

Leonard Cohen 2:

Rosanne Cash 1:

Rosanne Cash 2:

Why is there much less treble in Leonard Cohen 1 than in Leonard Cohen 2?

In any case, of those two I think 1 grips my heart tighter. Sounds really good!

I noticed that too, and wondered if they’d been recorded on different devices.

Thank you again for the feedback.

The clips have been recorded with the same device only minutes apart, the only difference is that i changed polarity of the mains of the whole system between set 1 and 2.
This is the third version of the same songs.

for the Lejonklou devices you have I would go with Fredriks recommendation to which pin of the plug the phase (hot) should be connected to.
For the rest I would test one after each other - starting with the component closest to the source which is in question.
If you generally switch the whole system you might improve 3 but make 1 or 2 worst.

I felt that something was not right so i tried to switch the whole system to see if things got worse, but in fact Fredrik and others prefered when the system was connected the "wrong" way.

Is the third better or worse than the others?

3rd is best in my opinion even out of memory and not going back to 2nd and 1st ... both songs but more obvious to me in the song from Rosanne Cash

This is clearly a case of source first.

In the "1" clips the whole system except the LS-Nas had the power cabels connected with reversed polarity and in the "2" clips only the LS-Nas had reversed polarity and still the most of you prefered the "1" clips.
The "3" clips is the same as "2" with the LS-Nas connected the right way. I think that I finally got all the cables sorted out since we moved.

Now it's time to get the LP12 up on the wall.

So what we just heard is that the mains phase (polarity) of the NAS matters more than all the other components put together?

I recently bought an Oehlbach Phaser, which indicates the correct phase for the appliance that you connect. I went through everything from computer, to router, switch, tv and stereo. It turned out to be a fairly big sound upgrade :-)
