Defender wrote: 2020-03-19 08:10 I was trying to optimize my loudspeaker settings as I realized my loudspeakers are positioned at a distance to the wall which is close to some interesting Vortex Math numbers. Vortex Math is also somehow related to Solfeggio Frequencies.

But it didnt gave me the outcome as expected.
The Option 1 is at 398mm (back side of the loudspeaker)from the back wall
the Option 2 at 396mm - a Vortex Math number but didnt work out.
Than I thought - well its not the back side its maybe the front side which is more important.
Option 2 is at 774mm from the back wall (front side of the loudspeaker) makes it 400mm from the back wall
... but also didnt worked out
Hi Defender,
Try this ... it's perfect ... working ... I have use it (as well as some other, but not as good as this one) and it very very Gooood.

I'm very happy with this set up.

thank you VAMKD - I did this ... as you might see that was an answer from Fredrik to my question.
But I thought I might have not found the best position to the very last mm - so I tried to do more.
As Charlie mentioned he thought the second try was closer than the first try I will do more tonight

Option 1 is 398mm to back wall thats what I found through the procedure mentioned by Fredrik
Option 2 is 396mm to back wall
the last Option 2 is 400mm to back wall (this is the one Charlie said he thought its closer to Option 1 so I will
try 399mm tonight

I know it. I have always been interested in science. I studied physics and chemistry before I jumped lane and studied music instead. :-)

And yet here we are trying to get music out of equipment made by people with music and science skills. :-)

398 is better.

Seems you had it nailed already!

B: https://www.dropbox.com/s/z0ryvupt9iriu ... 1.mp4?dl=0

This is my first go at recording so here's hoping that me & the phone are up to the task, and the clips are ok... can redo if not.

Bonus track just for a little fun :)

B: https://www.dropbox.com/s/9tqqr59nlr6v6 ... 1.mp4?dl=0
I agree with the others here that B is better.

It feels more groovy, although as Charlie wrote "Something about A (in the first track) gave me the initial impression of better timing, especially the drumming. More snappy perhaps."

as its very quiet in this forum right now and I wanted to distract myself from what is going on around me I started to play again with some options:

Option 1

Option 2

Agreed :D

Opt 1 for me please. I thought Opt 3 was the closer of the two.

That was a good tune deming track - straight into it too.

I thought also Option 3 was closer to Option 1 as Option 2 so I tried an Option 4
Option 1

Option 4
https://www.dropbox.com/s/7as9ouh6utjs0 ... 1.mov?dl=0

some minutes later ... giving up ... back to Option 1

just to give those who are optimizing speaker settings some background
Option 1 1463mm distance between the loudspeakers
Option 2 1465mm
Option 3 1461mm
Option 4 1462mm
its really worth to optimize to the last mm

thank you to all who helped especially Beck and Charlie for this one
Fredrik thank you for the wonderful guide in the „Setting up loudspeakers for the best tune" thread

I know I should give you another song but as I have the recording from yesterday and only one thing changed (Linn Silver RCA) I thought I can take the one form yesterday:

Option 1
https://www.dropbox.com/s/e35sx6howfbeo ... 3.mov?dl=0

Option 2
https://www.dropbox.com/s/1jqhh4ob5ka4w ... 2.mov?dl=0

uups recorded the wrong song so here you have a different song
https://www.dropbox.com/s/bbnh6ss2mugdb ... 4.mov?dl=0

Option 2 might have a slight disadvantage as just 5 hours continuous play after the change and its still bright outside so the solar panels from the neighbors might pollute my energy supply ;)

How do fairytales start Defender?

............ upon a time?

Twice upon a time ??

Thrice upon a time ???

My opinion is not valid anymore. If you find a better solution than my favorite I will not take notice anyway................

Hi Beck I hope I dont upset you with those tests.
I seem to make the same experience with a Linn Silver like you did:
Option 1 is newer generation Linn Siver
Option 2 is the old generation Linn Silver (non slotted)

lets see if I am also ending up with Linn Black ;)

No, no Defender. No problem at all. I just try to be a little creative in my answering! :-)

Cables are “funny” in that they can differ from couple to couple (cable to cable). I only have one really good set of linn blacks. So that is what I use.

I prefer the new cables, which is interesting because the word on the streets has been that the old cables are better.
