Hmm... not sure we will be sure on this one.
I hear the same tendencies but with a less clear preference.
There's something about the rubber feet that makes the tune easier to follow for me and directly on the shelf still has that rumbling tendency I heard on the previous clips. But, I can also hear the integration I know you like on the clip without rubber.

Can you modify the setup to use less/smaller/thinner rubber?

Yes, I will try modifying.

I am now trying out a new idea that seems to work. New clips on the way in the near future. :-)

Rubber pads moved under the amp. Cd player directly on shelf:

I prefer C to D. Will check out E now

Edit, prefer C to E as well I think.

We agree about C and D. C is the preferred setup.

I am at this moment enjoying E finding it to be very close to what I am searching for in the frame of my little system.

That means, I was right with B.
B = C.

It is good to know that I am not going astray.

Or is it labeled incorrectly?

Error, error, error

A and D, B and C are the same and E is new.

The labeling (text) is correct all the way.

I meant to say that I prefer D to C but am enjoying E the most at the moment.

Interesting that another piece of music leads you to the opposite result.
How is that possible?

OK Beck, you're sticking to your original impression. Since A = D.

E did something for me, but it seems kind of wrong.

So your preferred setup is (B,C) direct on shelf not using rubber pads at all?

I would say yes.

C touches me more emotionally again, especially at the beginning. And I sing along.
But it doesn't seem quite right to me.

D seems clearer to me. I can hear what's going on better, but it affects me less emotionally.

I think E somehow has potential, but it doesn't seem quite right either.

Had already listened today at noon (I Pad), D C was clearer, now not quite so (Windows laptop).

I did read the title and was aware of making a different choice second time around.

I feel I am close but the price of using a homemade stand is that it can be difficult to get a clean true hit! :-)

Maybe you want to experiment with skeets. Not just with the speakers. Let's see how they work. For example under the rack, under the floor space, under the device, etc.

I was also aware I switched opinion compared to before and thought about writing something else must have been changed.

Something might have changed. One of my speaker cables came too close to my stand maybe resting on it in the first set of clips (A,B).

I am continuing with no use of rubber pads.

Definitely C over D and over E as well. I like C, I didn't like D at all- something about it bugs me. E isn't as bad as D but I still find C to be the one I actually enjoy.

It might be a worn Klyde but I'd still take it any day. You might try and see what it would cost to have Goldring rebuild it for you.

Thank you all for listening and helping me find the best solution for my cd replay.

I really enjoy it and new cd’s are coming to my collection.

With Brexit it will not be cheaper to get a rebuild of my Klyde so it is not on my list right now though the Sondek being the most musical replay of recorded music in my house.

Yep, something very harmonious with the Sondek (or any half decent turntable really) that is just hard for digital to beat.

I’m working up the courage to do a Rega vs. Hakai shoot out, even with the risk that somebody finds digital better ;)

Didn’t realize you were in pickup problems beck. Maybe MM time?

MM with Adikt and Slipsik is great. I heard yesterday. Incredible.

Yes, LP12 for me too.
In comparison, CD is also very good, I think. A little simpler, but
I found one passage of the piece even better than on the LP12.

That is the reason why I am dragging you all through endless cd clips! :-)

My hunt for decent cd replay started as a reaction to the Klyde being discontinued and the lack of will to use a lot of money on cartridges.

MM could be a good solution but first I had to try what cd could bring to the party. Now I enjoy cd so much I cannot say when I will go back into vinyl.
At the moment I am buying all my favorite albums on cd to be able to listen to them. :-)
