I didn't feel that 42 was the answer... Preferred 44.

Re: Playground for practical listening exercices
I like what beck likes No. Seriously. I really do like what beck likes. 😂. The red led can’t play bass, which is strange, because in the Nait, the red led plays bass better than the green led.

Re: Playground for practical listening exercices
At first I liked red more, felt the tune was easier to follow. But it is missing bass, which is probably why what’s left seems to come across very clear.
In the end I’d opt for the full presentation of green.

Re: Playground for practical listening exercices
On my old mini I pad I preferred the red yesterday - but on the iphone today I prefer Green!
Checked again on the same I pad - red again.
Does not make sense to me.
My usual device for listening to clips is is the iphone however.

Re: Playground for practical listening exercices
I've listened a few times over the days and always picked green. The red isn't bad but sounds a bit tired in comparison.
Re: Playground for practical listening exercices
Gonna stick with green. I wanted one cosmetically better but it's gonna have to sound better as well. Not sure I'll try again.
Agree with the comments though, there is 'something' nicer about red but overall green is more rounded and comes out on top.
Re: Playground for practical listening exercices
Green all the way,and it's not because I support Celtic :0)
I know that tune

Jeez what a difference a worn bearing makes.Charlie1 wrote: ↑2021-01-06 22:45 Geddon is gone and a Lingo in its place which I'm much happier with.
This deck finally plays music to my liking.
A = Pre-cirkus black liner (very little wear) / Lingo 1 / steel subchassis / Ekos 2 / Adikt
B = Pre-cirkus black liner / Lingo 1 / steel subchassis / Ekos SE / Krystal

I'm for Green ... it's my first impression, after longer period ... Maybe I'm wrong ...Charlie1 wrote: ↑2021-01-09 20:26 Beck has got me into 10cc :D
Don't get the bass reinforcement like I did in the bedroom so it's a bit thin.

Fine tuning of what the cd player sits on:
Small hard rubber pads under each leg:

Directly on Audiotech shelf:
B) https://www.dropbox.com/s/60y04etyc03el ... 7.mov?dl=0
What do you prefer and why?

I prefer A.
When the song gets going after about 50 seconds the bass groove is tighter with the vocals. Conversely, I find the bass a bit sloppy and vocals a bit harsh on B.

Thank you for listening OscarH.
At the moment I am not using the hard rubber but I have not decided fully yet what I like the most so have a listen and take a pick. :-)

I’m not sure I’m right... what I heard wasn’t quite what I expected, would have thought the bass would go the other way with rubber feet.
Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
Remember, this is not about being right or wrong. It is a discussion of pros and cons. Nothing is perfect!

mmh, with rubber (A) seems more dense and less detailed but mure musical
directly on the support (B) seems to reveal more details but also sounds more harsh
however I would have not expected to hear such a difference between the two

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
Quite a clear difference again with your small changes beck.
Prefer A as well. Just more natural and enjoyable - my only focus was on what the musicians had created.
Whereas, B was distracting me with the HiFi side - like Oscar and Defender said, kind of harsh.

Yes, my homemade stand is full of secrets! :-)
I agree on most with you all though B is not harsh in the room to listen to. Thank you for listening! :-)
Post script: I find this comparison difficult. There are things in both clips I like. The hunt goes on..........

I am going with setup A from the clips above (as pointed out by those who listened). Enjoying every moment and ordering new cd’s. :-)

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
Interesting. When I listened to it for the first time, B seemed better. I felt the emotion stronger within me and the vibration seemed better. When listening to it repeatedly, I was able to hear the expressed emotion better in A. There is more expression in it, it also looks more precise.
Now what is better to hear the expressed emotion or to be more emotionally moved? I think both variants have something. I would probably do further research to get both ...
