Thanks. 1.4+2 for me (esp since you were so kind as to add the +/-2 ;)

1.4 +4: https://youtu.be/a9kpE3OLXzY
1.6: https://youtu.be/E0BjPJJgvjQ
To me 1.4+4 is best here.

I think you are on a good track....... :-)

I agree that 1.4+2 is better than 1.4-2.

Comparing across your posts I find 1.4+2 ever slightly better than 1.4+4 but they are close.

I think you need to go much lower.

Start at 0.4 and compare with 0.6, 0.8, 1.0 and 1.2. Then you can go to your favorite value around 1.4.

Here's a couple clips comparing a change I made to the speakers. The change is permanent so I hope you agree it's an improvement!

Clip 1:
A: https://youtu.be/KdzGwA99H0Y
B: https://youtu.be/G9Y6zok6IRc

Clip 2:
A: https://youtu.be/BY_PW0-YkNA
B: https://youtu.be/5gmkCHz1zcA

Enjoy!
I like A better, somehow better timing
I'm pretty much with the group on this. There is a more clear sound to B clips but the timing is messed up and the tone isn't quite right. On Clip 2 I was looking for my control pad so I could play Super Mario Bros.

Haha. Ok...I'll lay off the Postal Service, but they're a fun, somewhat eclectic group.

I heeded your advice and...
0.4: Not great
0.6: A bit better
0.8: Sat transfixed through 3 albums
1.0: Not quite as good as 0.8 but better than 0.6
1.2: Stiff

Here's where I am currently:
0.8 -2: https://youtu.be/GS0XstYW5CM
0.8: https://youtu.be/Lgs-WAPkIpc
0.8 +2: https://youtu.be/xH7DyXge15s

I'm leaning toward 0.8-2 but I've been known to be wrong on occasion. ;-)

Slight preference for 0.8 myself, but have to say I'm struggling to decide with this track... Also, what happened to your favorite value around 1.4 for comparison?

Still trying to catch up. Yesterday didn't help with the Linn Karousel news keeping me on the phone a lot.

I prefer RB and RB2 as well.

+ another one. I agree .8 is better, although it is more than a slight preference for me. Now I would recommend trying .8+1 and .8-1.

Here 'ya be:
0.8: https://youtu.be/usThkVKzJP8
1.4 +2: https://youtu.be/wT8lLD1Vd2E

Last night it got to the point where I had to put the torque wrench down and just play some music. I then found that I wasn't really getting along with 0.8-2. It's not like it was poor musically, more that the sound wasn't very appetizing. I don't care how musical a system is, I don't like being shouted at!

This afternoon I gave it another go and after thinking about it I realized I may have been a bit dismissive of the higher torques...possibly some expectation bias coming into play, so I gave them another go:

1.2: https://youtu.be/f4sXaFeppBs

Prefer 1.2 and 1.4+2 over 0.8 and 1.0, but struggling to pick a winner... Percussion is a bit insistent on the clips, and I feel like 1.2 is a little easier to get on with in that regard, but still liking 1.4+2... Just not sure if it might be too much (of a good thing)
The fence is getting a little uncomfortable so I'm going to leave it there for now so that others can comment ;)

For me 0.8 ...
Comparing to the other torques ... I stay on my first decision 0.8, I can elaborate why, but at the end of a day ... 0.8 (here dot and smile)

I preferred 1.0 to 1.2 but the rest I wasn't so sure about.
I think 0.8 had the edge over 1.4 +2
Between 0.8 and 1.2 was close but think I'll side with Vlado on 0.8.
Not helped by my work laptop which can't play the clips continuously today - excuses, exuses! :)

That sax does sound mighty fine though.

difficult - is there a chance to hear the 2 or 3 options you want to work further with but different music?
0.8 was fine but also 1.2 but I am not 100% convinced one of the two is already the optimum

I might be thrown out of the forum for this but what I have experienced when I am close to the optimum setting I put on a recording with a nice kickdrum. The kickdrum either sounds lazy and unengaged or bloated ... and just right fast and dry when you hit the spot
