Akurate 242 with Tundra

Had lots of variety with hi fi systems recently.

Akurate 212s with exakt tunebox, Klimax 350P with Klimax twin, Akurate exakt Akubariks.

Dali speakers with Jeff Rowland amps. Surprised how much improved Naim amps are with dr modification, having been away from them for about 30 years!


All sound great in different ways. The new exakt software has taken much of the digitalness away. The most analogue sounding to date.

Today received a new Tundra 2, some Akurate 242s, Klimax ds2 connected with split k400.

Straight from the box, so musical and involving, has reminded me how well the 242s and Tundra 2 work together.

Afraid going against many, no pre amp, but what a simple system, best sound per pound.

Excellent amplifier, great to hear it with 242s again, still an all time favourite speaker with me, especially in the above configuration.

You certainly won't be! The upgrade from Monos to Mono2s on my 242s was stunning. My best upgrade for many many years.

My Tundra stereo 1.2 was a great match for my 242s - let alone version 2 or Mono 2s.

I still remember the precise moment my local dealer replaced my Ninkas with the 242s ( KDS1, AK1 feeding the Tundra ).

The sound from the Ninkas had improved dramatically when the KRDS/0 was changed for the KDS1- ( AK1, Tundra in place) - but with 242s - the music went to a a whole different level.
