Well, it appears Linn has been very busy and it is all Exakt stuff. Here is a breakdown of the new products (all prices US):
New 6 channel Akurate Exakt box for $5600
This allows those with 3 way speakers to go exakt and save $2400 compared to the 10 channel version. Performance is supposed to be the same. In addition Linn says some way want to go with two units for a dual mono setup.
New 8 channel Exaktbox Majik-I at $6320
The frist iteration fo Exakt at Majik level with 8 DACs and 8 channels of Chakra amplification which gives you the ability to drive any Majik model speaker in Exakt mode with two boxes. No mention of quality level of DACs but then it is 'lossless". Those who purchase this (or other exakt gear) will be able to upgrade their Majik DS, DSI or DSM to the latest versions with ExaktLink for $875, $1200 or $2400 (from DS, DSM, DSI respectively)
New Exaktbox Sub at $2000
This brings Exakt to subwoofers with the ability to connect one or two subs in mono or stereo modes. Konfig supports Space+ for Linn subs and others currently using point source mode. Presumably other subs will be profiled in future for more precise settings. Two each balanced and unbalanced outputs with two DACs.
Finallly, Linn have added full Exakt Aktiv operation capabilities to the "KEF Reference 5, PMC Twenty26 and JBL K2 S9900" on top of the existing support for "all* models from Linn, B&W Nautilus and 802 Diamond, and Kudos Super 10, Super 20 and Titan 808." *Note: apparently a number of us are hallucinating in thinking that Linn ever made the Isobarik DMS and PMS, Kan, Helix and Index speakers. Note also that there are quite a number of Linn speakers that are not supported for Exakt Aktiv operation despite what they say above.
So along with the new speakers on another thread it appears Linn has been quite busy and are working on moving their Exakt technology throughout the line.
