Majik DSM and Tundra stereo power amp

Post by papillon »

Hello,
I'm considering upgrading the amp part of my Majik DSM.

Is that possible to add a tundra stereo amp to the MDSM switching off the internal amp? will that improve the sound? or I should add an Akurate 2200?

Thanks,
Pascal

I did try this using klimax 350, it breaks source first rules, but was amazingly good.
Both a klimax twin or tundra are way ahead of an akurate 2200

Thanks Anthony.

did the Tundra bring more weight or presence to the music? i'm wondering adding a NAIM amp to the MDSM to get more "weight" in the sound. but wonder if the Tundra has the same sort of effect.

The only thing you'll get by adding a naim amp is a headache and bleeding ears!
Seriously, the tundra stereo 2.0 is a blinder and a no brainer for the money. You'll have a much more musical and detailed performance with weight and slam where required to boot.
I don't think Lejonklou is hard to sell, it sells itself, it's getting people willing to hear it in the first place that seems to be more tricky.
Open your mind and ears.

Yes it was far better than I expected. I have not heard a Naim in this scenario, but if you heard the Tundra, you would not be disappointed, the tundra will give a very natural musical sound.
I have not had much success mixing Linn and naim in the past.
