I am now down to 2 speakers

It's between:
Yamaha NS1000M's
B&W 805 Matrix
and the wildcard: Klångedang T1
I have a Renew and A2200, I fancy a trip to Sweden anyway so could incorporate a visit to Gothenburg.
If I had a gun to my head I'd choose the B&W Matrix 805, but it's v rare in the UK, not a sniff of a sell anywhere (for weeks)!

805 Diamonds are excellent. I'd love to hear the Klangedangs. Totem Arros are pretty special too.

Can you elaborate on why NS1000 are on your list? Unless they've been radically improved since way back when I heard them, they are not exactly fun to listen to, are they?
Yes, do listen to the Klångedang T1! It's a very special speaker.

Personally, I prefer the 805 Matrix in regards to value for money, although it is a whole load easier to source the Diamonds.

A friend of mine has a couple and I borrowed them for a month or so, with a decent(ish) source it sounds so good.
I agree, that they're not 'fun', they're savage on poor recordings, but I like a clear, exact sound.
It's the same reason why I also would love to source a couple of Matrix 805's.
It's hard for me to elaborate, I just like them a great deal and for a pair of speakers that came out in the mid 70's they are still much loved and popular (if reading pages on the internetz is anything to go by).
Big bad-boy speakers, heavy old sods!

Haven't heard the Klingklang one, but I'd like to!. I like the designer's way of thinking. I'm just curious about it.
I agree that the 805 Matrix & NS1000's are 'different', but the price that they (hopefully) can be bought at these days I could keep both (or sell one, no problem).

When you put it that way, I realise that I've never heard NS1000 with a decent source.

I have purchased the B&W 805 Matrix speakers.
Magnificent speakers!
