Why not post your impressions on pitch stability in the Linn forum?

Welcome here, Sondek!
Please note that this thread is about record and stylus cleaners, not about modifications of the LP12. Start a separate thread if you intend to discuss that.

Yes, another thread would be good, and to have another crack at that sondek, especially as I think I picked the less musical ones last time :o) Perhaps a different recording too.

The difference between the Linn forum and this is that in here, we agree to use the Tune Method as the reference for our discussions.

Welcome Sondek!
As Fredrik already pointed out: Please note that we are pretty picky about the use of tune-dem as a common reference. The moderator (that would be me) is very stubborn about this.

What material is the wall to which the shelf is mounted on and do you find it stable? What kind of floor is it in the room? As probably pointed out in the extensive thread on the Linn forum I suspect the original issue is the foundation for the turntable. A turntable placed on a wall shelf which is moving horizontally is bad and for a suspended deck could be even worse if the resonance frequency of the wall is close to the resonance frequency of the turntable suspension. If that is the case I would not be surprised to find that your modification improves the performance. It is however no indication that this modification actually is a generally applicable improvement on the design.
It would be interesting to hear WAV or FLAC examples with and without your modifications!

I have such recordings, shall I post them?

Where has Sondek gone? I admit I'm not hearing wow from my LP12 nor agree with his assessment that most decks outperform the LP12 in the tune-dem. I believe I'm listening for different things when judging a hifi. I've spent a few years doing tune dems for folks so I think I have a handle on it.

Recordings of what exactly? An LP12 with and without his modification?
Could be interesting to hear, although I'm very sceptical about it.

They are of my decks suspension locked in the horizontal plain and of it free.

I thought it quite easy to hear which one had the suspension locked, what do you all think?
And here is one just because it sounds so damn fine!

I promise to give them a listen as soon as I'm sitting down.
What are the specifications of your LP12?

This is a complete coincidence, but I listened to the track and then found the LP in Oxfam during my lunch break - just a small shop with limited vinyl. It was 6 quid, but is a 70s copy with the Island logo and pink border. Look forward to listening tonight.
I did listen to the tracks. Prefer the bounce one unsurprisingly, although listening via my laptop it was not as obvious as I expected, so I think I'm loosing much of the difference. When I tested at home on my deck it was really clear. My laptop headphones are pretty rubbish though and the files fairly quiet and office noisy.

Thanks flatpopely. I've never really listened to needle drops before but that is a real eye (ear) opener.
