Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
I prefer A2. It keeps me interested the whole way through. B2 didn't.
Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
Everything just seems to fall in place better musically with B2.Whatsmynaim wrote: ↑2023-04-14 18:29 I prefer A2. It keeps me interested the whole way through. B2 didn't.

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
I think its difficult to decide I find both very good but since I cant decide it seems that both have differend qualities - I tend to like B better if both B‘s are the same setup
Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
Yes, A and A2 are the same setup. B and B2 are the same setup.
It’s that live feeling…………….

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
A2 is my natural preference but I now hear what spankko says about the more tuneful vocals in B / B2.
Is there somewhere between the two?

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
That’s analogue. Not 0 or 1, not A or B but some in between….

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
A2 doesn’t even sound like S&G to me. It’s too out of tune. B2 is captures S&G’s harmonies much better, IMHO.

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
..Very interesting results with me as the only one to prefer A in both cases. By the way I still stand by my choices.
How does it sound in room and what do you prefer Beck?

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
I understand all the answers that are written regarding setup A and B, and they are one to one with what I hear in the room. :-)Whatsmynaim wrote: ↑2023-04-15 04:38 ..Very interesting results with me as the only one to prefer A in both cases. By the way I still stand by my choices.

More clips are to come soon with an “inbetween” setup.

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
Out of the three, C is best on both songs. Time to go back to the drawing board eh? ;)
Well, first let's hear what everyone else has to say.

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
Yeah, C / C2 are my pick as well. Not like listening to a HiFi - i only hear music
Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
Agree, C2 would be my pick of the bunch thus far..

Thank you all for listening and taking part in the discussion. It is so interesting and helpful to get the forums
point of view.
C is my baseline for further experiments. :-)
Who knows, maybe C is the music peak for my system………..

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
..and here we go again
C vs D: This was really difficult! D sounds relaxed and got a tuneful bass, still I probably pick C for it's pace and energy.
C2 vs D2: Here I pick C2. D2 sounded a bit too slow for my taste.

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
Thank you Whatsmynaim. This is what I needed. I now have a clear picture of where to land. It is quite close to C but with a small twist. :-)Whatsmynaim wrote: ↑2023-04-17 16:42 ..and here we go again

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
I found this much closer too. I still prefer C which to me is like a soft lullaby transporting me away.
However, I think I now prefer D2 as I find it more interesting.
You do seem to have zero'd in on a crossover point. Which way are you leaning?

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
I got an idea.
Maybe it's time to bring back the Silver interconnects and see what happens? I know you prefer the Linn Black but when listening to them in my own system they sound almost skewed. Like if the high frequencies arrives earlier than the rest. Resulting in a quick and lean presentation. In that respect Linn Silver are much more balanced and tuneful. And yeah, that could be the reason why they're more expensive ;)

Just need some feedback on recording
Do I need to adjust distance, volume, something else?
