Was just that you owned 3677 more recently, so curious about your enjoyment of the progress on to 708 as much as an assessment of musical merits ;)

Those of you with LSR308 or 708s installed, any chance of pics of your installation(s) to get a sense of how they look in a hifi set up, in-room, on stands, please? (CFO is not convinced... yet ;)

708P are quite massive and their look is more "pro" than "furniture hifi". Personally I love how they look. I live alone so I have no need to negotiate with anyone.

I am also a huge fan of horns and real compression drivers. Looks just as brutal as they sound.

Discodave wrote: 2021-12-18 10:57 I have Van Damme XLRs running from Kisto to 308s. Sound good. It was between that and Mogami but needing 2 sets of 6m cables the Mogami was too expensive for me. The Van Dammes were all in £40. Obviously I cannot tell which cable is musically superior but I am very happy with the performance.

Now, I am currently demoing Giella and needed the RCA connections for it with XLR. Managed to procure an adaptor from local music shop that does the trick. Result!! There probably is some form of degredation (again I cannot test this)however, Im not really too bothered and means I can now listen to Giella/308s without paying for 2 x 6m cables that will cost more than the speakers themselves. And it sounds/feels fantastic.

Hope this helps.
Is there any low level hum coming from the woofer,I had some when using adapters ?

How are you able to position the loudspeakers when one is standing in a corner and the other is basically standing in open space?

It works surprisingly well. No issues whatsoever. But I spent quite some time to tune them to the correct position and adjusted the gain of the left speaker slightly.

Ah, in that case, you definitely need 708’s. They go all the way to 11 without showing any distress whatsoever!

Thanks for the pics jajo, and Azazello.

Any other installations, maybe on Katan or 109 stands?

I have on 109 stands. Silver. Black would probably be better.

Hopefully get time to work on clips tomorrow and you can see from them.

I think Jajo's description of the 308's performance is spot-on and IMHO '8' is actually a pretty accurate assessment. Played within their dynamic limitations they are as close to a '10' as anything I've ever heard, but it's those limitations that knock it down a peg or two. The 308's dynamic range is its greatest weakness, and it was one of my previous speakers' greatest strengths (as I believe is the case with the 3677) so they have taken a bit of getting used to. I have to remind myself that I can't just crank 'em up and fill the whole house with music like I could with the Omens, but for the vast majority of my listening they play in their zone and are just brilliant. I do, however, see a pair of 708P in my (distant) future.

I’m really happy with the modified Graham Audio stands! Aesthetically and sound wise.

There doesn't appear to be any easy way to attach grills to them? They are the sort of speaker that look as though they'd look better with grills on.

Is there any domestically acceptable way in which you could move your turntable well away from the speakers?
Having the LP12 on a floor mounted stand next to the speaker stand seems to be a recipe for increased unwanted vibration in your turntable. Even if you have a solid concrete floor.

When I've experimented with moving my turntable from close to speakers to the far corner of the room it has resulted in the sort of upgrade in sound that was equivalent to a significant upgrade in component quality.
