thank you beck - for me its more clear when I hear my own clips.
also thank you for the compliment ... there is still two things on the hifi side - too much bass and sometimes too harsch.

This screw is much more sensitive than one notch or half a notch.
If this is the elevated part of a notch half a notch is in the middle and I have the feeling to either side are two other options which make a difference. That only works on the elevated notch as with the other you don't have the chance to adjust as tiny steps.

The hifi side has never been my focus. I guess that is why I never really feel the urge to upgrade from where I am now with my own system. :-)

That’ll be the left one for me.

I found it easier to pick Left for A - the song was clearer on the Right, but there was a better connection to the music & emotion of the song on the Left.
I found it more difficult to pick between L&R for B - there didn't seem as much emotion in B to pick L; it felt like the clarity of R helped carry the energy & performance for B, but I didn't really get into B on either, so going by A, I'd go Left, but would probably choose a few more songs to compare & decide.

Wow this is fun! Very interesting! Thank you so much for your comments! I'm leaning towards left myself but it is not easy even if they give rather different sound character. The left shelf is an Standesign with glas shelf 20+years old and the right is an Audiotech with standard shelf also from the 90ies.

As someone pointed out it might be better to use the Harmoni rack Tor shelfs instead but the floor is not stable enough so when you walk over the it the needle might jump. The Radikal is using best shelf. The right Harmoni rack have home made shelves.

The AT33PTG/II has a lovely top end that seems to fit with your Standesign shelf.


And one thing more: it is such a plessure to be able to see and hear such different systems as we have heard here on the “playground”. More systems are always welcome. The diversity and commen focus on music makes the time used here all worth while. :-)

Standesign? I used it by myself too about 20 years ago - I still like the wrinkled/crumbled surface of the black coating.

I can’t say thank you enough for this thread - with the help of the form members I have improved my system soo much. And at the same time its a nice teaching tool to learn tune dem.

Hadn’t heard that album in years, it’s currently saving my shopping trip.

I’ve always liked it, the sound is a pretty wild mix of dirty London basement back in the day and 80’s glam. Some good songs too!

Your vids are a great example of that - I would never have even considered that a glass shelved mass market wall bracket could out perform the Audiotech!

I just counted the scores for left and right wall shelf to be 4 -4. If you include Freddy 5 - 4.

Saying that the one is out performing the other I think is an overstatement also when you hear how Freddy commented on them.

I hear different strengths from the shelves. Thats all. :-)

I am trying to optimize my arm torques (and also trying to understand how much my torque driver is off) but it seems there is either a torque with more musicality or one where I can follow voices better ... I would than think the torque between the two should do but that also doesn't perfectly work:

Working my way through the clips I missed.

I also feel Clip 1 is the best, and I would say it gets worse as the clip number gets higher.
