Hi!
I’ve listened to the Bison monitor speaker last week. I was not really that impressed. Then I listened to the Signature one. That was in another league, which should be expected by the difference in price! Then I was recommended to listen to the Loon. Smaller than the two previous speakers. The lest expensive of the three speakers. Was it as good as the Signature? No. Was it as fun? I would say so. If you get a chance to listen to the Bison, please make sure that you also are able to hear the Loon.

Maybe you should have a listen to the new Linn 119s?
Re: Speaker Choices for Lejonklou amplifiers…?
Yeah, will surely do that..but i’m afraid that the bass ’rear ported’ will be to much in my attic room
3m>3m, the speakers will be placed close to a overhanging ceiling..
I think a home demo is a must..
Does anyone heard then allready in a small room?

Re: Speaker Choices for Lejonklou amplifiers…?
Now this makes a lot of sense as I have tried the Lejonklou with quite a few speakers but the tundra seems like a perfect match to our bedroom Linn Kan II’s which are rated at 6.8 ohms and 86db. With the kabers (4 ohms/87db) taking the second place. The akudoriks which are 8 ohms /87 sb worked perfectly in a smaller room but not in a larger room.
@Fredrick - you should try a tundra with a pair of Kan II’s just to see how good a match they are. They are just too small for our living room.

lejonklou wrote: ↑2024-04-10 20:21 There is no specific low limit impedance for my amplifiers. The design of the output stage is such that it's extremely resilient to difficult loads, such as low impedance or phase shifts.
If you use a loudspeaker with very low impedance, the only thing that can happen is that you can't play as loud.
Here's a very rough guide for how to think:
An impedance of 6 ohms will maximize how loud you can play with my amplifiers.
Higher than 6 ohms and the amp will first run out of voltage when you crank it up.
Lower than 6 ohms and the amp will first run out of current when you crank it up.
But the impedance figure for a loudspeaker is so simplified that it's almost pointless:
The impedance varies with frequency. It's a curve with wild swings, plus another curve of the phase between voltage and current.
The impedance doesn't say anything about the musical qualities of the loudspeaker (but the curves can reveal its design).
And:
The sensitivity number says a lot more about how loud you can play. Say one speaker has an average sensitivity of 84 dB/1W/1m and another has 94. The difference between them is 10 dB, that's ten clicks louder on the preamp, like going from green to yellow, for the same amount of power from the amplifier.
Now imagine you're cranking it up to where the amp starts clipping. The speaker rated 94 is now playing ten steps louder than the one rated 84.

Here’s how my diy loudspeaker measures. As far as I’m aware, very few loudspeakers ever made present such an easy load to the amplifier. This has been achieved by careful component selection and without adding components to modify the phase or impedance. The focus has been purely on musicality.

Hi,
After reading some raving reviews about the Xavian "Perla exclusiva" i found a pair in white of these,
and as they apear not very often on the second hand market i made a quick deal with the seller..in white, not my favorite coulour but seams to be ok now.
I can say they make big difference even as they are in the same pricerange as the M109, they are so musical
Lovely mids, stage, separation all is there..and they really can boogie, p.r.a.t is excellent..but what also make the difference from the M109, there is bassss.. these go low, hardly to believe with such small speaker..happy man!
