I think you need to be more methodical. I'm getting confused myself with what kit you do or don't have in place. I don't want to list everything out, but there's been a lot of advice on this thread (and the Linn one) and you're not feeding back to us very clearly what you have or have not checked.
For example, have you performed the test recommended by Fredrik - one Solo at a time? Have you checked all ICs as another example? I haven't seen a post from you asking how you check the ICs are proper Linn ones so presume not.
There is no point in repeatedly complaining about your situation when you don't seem to be approaching the fault finding in a coherent manner.

I think the Pre is the simplest part of a system; you can see it on the Kikkin. My system is in the Hand of the KDS! :)
Yes i changed all cables, while the K600s are already some years old the 2 Silver ICs are not burned in. What do you think how long it takes?

Its on the surface great but you cant dive into the music if you want pleasure. And that is why i spent that much money.. But i'm full of hope the new Solos are better. If i would have known that before-the 2000 Solos offered for 5300 Euro were a damn good deal. :(
The KDS made it much easier to bear though! I think my mediacenter had his hand in the game too.

Im also alittel confused now or what its is you are doing (or smoking).
The solos mine included produces the best , fastest deepest , tightest , most dynamic bass you will ever get from a hifi power amplifire in this world.
I have compared them with Ayre mx-r , krell evolution the its not even close.
The bass preformans is the one part where there is not a shadow of doubt that the are worlds better then the twin.
Have you compared klimax kontrol SE with Kikkin ?
if you view the kontrol part as the simplest part of the system im in total disagreement with you.
The preamp is the most significal bottelneck of the system, the new klimax kontrol can easyly demonstrate that.

Was ill some days and didnt want further testing, but i found out that the solos play different. I ordered 2 Linnpowercords for the Solos from my dealer. Btw the Silvers are new and original Linn. I also found that there is a difference in treble between the Loudspeakers-at least one is damaged and needs service, hope its in warranty.
Ok what i also found out is that the weaker Solo with horrible timing together with the mediacenter as source/pre plays now with the KDS better or same good. But not extensive tested. The new one gets not as hot,has another switch and the LED is not so bright, but didnt remember the other LED from the beginning...? Maybe something with fuse, powercord? I can also imagine something changed with another powercord here, with the bigger powercord it sounds much righter especially in the mids/highbass. Need more testing but i have now biamped the better speaker when i baught the KDS with the newer now good solo on 3k array and the timing was a big step forward. It was still all wrong and couldnt hear it though.
Ok now it comes: I read the threads about the software affects sound on the Linnforum- yes.... I remembered this and thaught why not test some tuning..
I also changed some Network, now with a switch and not all in the FritzBox/DSL.
And after restoring original settings with scrolling feature activated the sound became noticable musical involving.
I then tried the previous 0.6 software and what the **! IT WAS THERE! ! ! From the first 2 tones i knew it was the same track.
I instantly had a picture of the whole track, it was magic. EVERYTHING FINALLY STARTS MAKING SENSE!!, ITS SUCH MUSICAL NOW. !!
It reveals now a new interpretation.
At the beginning i had still some concerns with the new interpretation when it got worser and worser and then the last tone - the(new) counter. Perfect!!!! :mrgreen:
I also can hear piano(and cant stop it),unbelievable great..............................................................................
Its the same track now with another/more interpretation.
It has still not the jumpfactor of my twin BUT with the 2 Solos on one Speaker the treble is extremely sweeeet now :D , It's good possible i can live with it till the Solo upgrade comes and the treble gets better so i will have stereo again! I need some time after that nightmare to go that deep into the music because it feels different which still deters me, but clear and ok with another (right!!) interpretation and just a matter of time.
But the door is open, It now feels like my handy with the new firmware.
The tones are right now, that what i originally meant with on piano its another interpretation. Its more precise/musical.
I should try getting my hands on a KK for mono then and thats it! Conclusion= My handy was far superior to the KDS! :D
I dont know if that can be said in other setups - i still use the mediacenter pre. It sounds now much less organized and the tones are not more so sleek, but I'm sure with the KK its per-fect.
Ok, back to music. Who cares about testing for now- first time after soon 4 months when i changed the amps my system brings (massive) enjoyment!

So i think i'll sell mine now and look for some new solos.

With my current solos its most like . . . . . . . instead of . . . . .. .
The Solos are simply to slow in the microdynamik but the new ones are not-which must have something to do with the huge improvement of bipolars speed.
The Twin will still have very little more realistic piano sound i guess which is hopefully not hearable.

The solos are faster more dynamic and have vastly better seperation.
I cant speak for your system or your solos , but there is no way in hell enyone would ever call the chakra twin faster if the had heard them here.
THE REASON why i regret that i traded the ´solos witha chakra twin plus money is that the CT cant handel fast music like the solos can.
Now it gets a bit boomy and the pitch gest distorded.
Find someone who loves piano and you will get a quick answer.
Piano with Twin was already perfect for me but i need two for big orchestras. So I went the Solo route, not knowing how slow the old Solos are. For my ears its clear- Still cant hear piano. Its really that bad.
But its fine with rock pop or jazz. Just not for classical.

Il bet you just about enything that there is som mechanical mailfunction somwher hidden in you system the are causing the solos to sound slower.
Going by the nature of have the solos work and them having more power , speed is what the solos exceel in.
I have Chakra twin now , an unless my chakra twin is damaged the solos are simply way faster and yes i listen to lost of music with piano, bach is an example.
But the real difference is when i put on fast tempoed trance or rock music with big dynamics.
With the solos this was simply unreal fast and real awsome, the chakra cant do this, it becomes boomy , and that is because it cant dilever enourgh or quickly enourgh current to the bass drivers.
Do what ever you want but you are making a huge mistake concluding eny thing right now , because there is cleraly somthing wrong with ither your solos or ýour system .
But why on earth dont you bring you solos ´down to your dealer and ask if you cant compare them with there solos plus a chakra twin.
Go down to your dealer , bring you solos , and demand that you demo them against there solos and a chakra twin in a system the know works and then you will get the truth .
Do that and then form a oppinion, enythingt else is idiotic

Its extreme. The Twin is miles better in everything but details. But overall
i cant see why anyone who compared would choose the (older) Solos.
The Twin makes music, the Solos just amplify all they can. Without the right timing you have already lost whatever you do.

Maybe you should do a comparison between a pair of solos that actually work and are not broken , that would proberly be a more precise comparison :roll: :roll: :roll: .
My VW Transporter runs way way faster then my broters bmw m5 , its really scary so much faster my car is, hmm but he keeps saying that his car is without a engine for the moment.
