Re: Playground for practical listening exercices
For some reason it's constantly buffering on my laptop. It will only play a couple of seconds at a time. I'll try later on the ipad.
Re: Playground for practical listening exercices
Ok, just realised the files are pretty large!
I’ll re upload smaller filers in a few minutes

Links replaced, hope it works better now :)

Re: Playground for practical listening exercices
I'm a little confused. I actually prefer the second clip in the order they are posted above. However, at the bottom of the window the first clip is labeled Oxy_2 and the second clip is labeled Oxy_1. So just to be clear I find Oxy_1 to be the more musical clip. They both are pretty good so, regardless of which I picked, the Raspberry PI+ESI obviously does a good job.

Re: Playground for practical listening exercices
I find 2 relatively more musical than 1.
Re: Playground for practical listening exercices
+1
I couldn't stand Pulp but I enjoyed that.

Very good clips maffe.
I actually think that I prefer listening to the more “simple” sound from the first setup in each set of clips in all your clips (guess this is the non Linn setup).
I like the sound you get out of your system. Can you tell again what your system is and have you made any changes since your first clips on this forum?

Re: Playground for practical listening exercices
Thx Beck!
Yes, the rpi+esi #1 in the second set of clip.
Totally unfair comparison, the Adsm connected with Ethernet and the rpi with WiFi. The rpi with different rca-cables and a no-name usb to the ESI so no attention to detail at all. The rpi costed 50€ with case and psu.
Only difference from the first clip to the second round of clips is that I dumbed the adsm down and turned everything off (like hdmi), so it only worked as a streamer.
My main source is still LP12 with Akito 1 and adikt. Adsm have been replaced with Sagatun Mono, Adsm now working as streamer, hdmi-switch and riaa.
Now testing how to make it work with out the Adsm and still keep the WAF up.

Re: Playground for practical listening exercices
Well, the Sagatun Mono has made it’s impact clear. :-)
Listening again using a slightly different technic with my earpods I end up agreeing with Spannko and Charlie1. Either way it sounds good.

Re: Playground for practical listening exercices
The first clip gives me a working environment nearer what I am used to as a musician making it possible for me to tune my instrument into the sound of the other instruments. The near/away from the mic effect is also more clearly heard here.
The second clip loose this in favour of a less dry sound just a touch softer and maybe more easy on the ear at first listen.
It will be interesting to hear what exactly is going on.

Regardless of what we’re listening to, your system sounds great Thomas!
