Valid point and good observation too, it's probably an error...champton90 wrote: ↑2025-01-31 18:42 Per the Linn website, USA price is “from” $11,380. I put from in quotes because there’s only one finish option so not sure why it’s “from”. 🤷🏻♂️

If you go by some Linn dealers' websites, there's 2 options: plinth, and 'plinth with mechanicals' so I expect "from" is plinth only, and the 'plus' price hasn't been put on the website yet...

Re: Linn price increase February 2025
That is a likely possibility, but I'm not sure how Linn wouldn't already know the price for both items before advertising.

Too much $peculation, not to mention plenty of other way$ for me to $pend $12+k, if I choose to... This won't be the Bedrok of my system; maybe it will be yours.

Re: Linn price increase February 2025
I'm very happy with my Chris Harban plinth, and have no reason to switch to another plinth. The upgrade I'm still waiting for is the Utopik power supply for the Radikal, which certainly seems cheap compared to the Linn Bedrock and new top plate.

Re: Linn price increase February 2025
It appears that the plinth itself will be $11,380. From more conversations and research the plinth comes with a top plate included and mounted to the plinth. The reason for this is one I mentioned in talking about the LP12-50, CNC machining an internal 90° corner appears to be very difficult. Because of this the inside top corners of the plinth have a very small curved radius. The top plate has a matching slight curve on the left corners. The radius is quite small so there is no need to change anything else like the Keel. Indeed you have to look close to notice it.
The other price on the list is a complete LP12 mechanics package with Bedrok plinth. As with all LP12 mechanics packages this comes with all the LP12 parts other than motor/controller, sub chassis, bottom plate, arm and cartridge. These parts are the Karousel and inner platter, outer platter and felt mat, belt, cross brace, springs, grommets, washers, nuts, hinge plates, screws, hinges, dustcover and, of course, the plinth, top plate and chassis bolts.
They also made another change from the 50th anniversary Bedrok plinth. On that plinth the screws that hold on the hinge plates and Urika are fine threaded machine screws. This caused some dealers, myself included, to be concerned as to how the fine threaded holes in the wood would hold up with repeated usage. It appears Linn either took this concern to heart or discovered the weakness itself. The new version now has threaded metal inserts, apparently steel, fitted into the wood. This should reduce the concern about slight over-tightening and repeated use causing problems, a sensible precaution.

Tony, Would you give up Sondek LP12 in the case of Fredrik develops his own Lejonklou Uppsalsa turntable?Tony Tune-age wrote: ↑2025-01-13 15:18 The only part of the Linn train that I'm still riding is the Sondek LP12. And as long as they can improve it's performance, I will continue to support their new products no matter the cost. Each new part that's been installed continues to bring out more music from my vinyl collection, and that is crazy cool for me. Sure the new LP12 parts can cost a major penny at times, but ultimately it's worth the investment in my situation.
I have essentially given up on Linn phono stages, preamps, and power amps since Fredrik started making such great electronic components.

Interesting question Arjen, but that's too much speculation to think about at this time. However, if a Lejonklou Uppsalsa were to be created I would certainly give it a listen.Arjen wrote: ↑2025-02-04 23:19Tony, Would you give up Sondek LP12 in the case of Fredrik develops his own Lejonklou Uppsalsa turntable?Tony Tune-age wrote: ↑2025-01-13 15:18 The only part of the Linn train that I'm still riding is the Sondek LP12. Gibson uses a material similar to Bedrock for some of their guitars. Unlike their main lines, this material is used on their bottom-of-the-line models!

I think machine screw inserts should be standard for all Linn plinths not only for the Bedrok.
