These are my first clips here. I made a change that is hard to revert but I'd like to hear opinions which one is better in both sets. Did I go wrong direction or not... A or C ?

first set:
A https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/xcxvgajf ... y84ih&dl=0
C https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/djz0im9d ... rhstr&dl=0

second set:

It took a while to decide but I think I prefer A on both.
Just a though. If it's possible to achieve something in between the two different presentations maybe that would be the clear winner?

A for me too - better musical flow; song(s) felt more together, on the same rhythm, as opposed to the musicians playing independently... C seemed to bring forward parts of the song, so could sound better, but at the expense of the overall timing, to my ears.

I prefer A on both clips.

C sound more like a live concert. Cool sound! But they loose the tightness and precise interplay that I hear in A.

Preferred C on first set. Couldn’t open one of the clips on second set

EDIT: work on mac. Prefer A on second set.

I prefer A on both.

With the first clip the choice was easy. With the 2nd, C was making a compelling argument but switching back to A was better.

As you might guess from the recent post to Hakai thread, I'm still happy user of debian-on-HAKAI -version. This belongs to series "Don't fix it, if it's not broken"... a.k.a took a plunge for version upgrades... let's see if I can maintain the original musicality but more about this on next week.

Of the two, I prefer C, finding that A sounds a bit laboured, lifeless and less tuneful in comparison.

Rest of the system is Kikkin upgraded to latest version, 308s on M109 stands with skeets, interconnects local (retired) Linn retailer's own make and rca-xlr Roland instrument cables (not tried any other so far). Modem is TP link MR200.
The change is debian version upgrade from 10(=A)to 12(=C).

Will you be trying Linn Siver/Black interconnects to your Kikkin and Linn RCA plugs/Linn Black Analog cable/Neutrik XLR to your 308’s

E32 for me. E30 has timing issues, the band struggles to keep up when it all gets going.

Different DACs, or a BMW ref: E30 3-series; E32 7-series? :)

I could only listen to the first two clips from 9/19. I prefer A. The C clip sounds cleaner and a bit more forward but A flows better and I find the voice more expressive.

I definitely prefer £30 over £32. I started playing £30 planning to listen to 15 seconds or so but was forced to listen until the end - and I didn't want it to end. I played £32 and had to force myself to listen until the vocals came in. Then I went back and played £30 again. Lovely clip!

Yes, they did have glass shelves, at one point both frosted and clear. I was told that glass was worse but did some comparisons with a glass shelf on the top of my rack and found the glass to be more musical than the mdf. I don't have those around anymore and wasn't able to compare glass to bamboo.
