it seems you use Mission stands with the JBLs? They have the right hight but I found the Lin Kan stands which I recently replaced the Mission stands with a notable improvement.
Also your JBLs look like very close to the wall - I had them at about 11cm away from the back wall but after more experimentation they are now about 16cm away from the back wall.

btw I also like the Klangedags better in those two clips

The stands are Linn Katan stands. I tried various positions from 6-20 cm from backwall and found 11cm to work best. I have not yet tried different positions further apart. I still have some things to try about powercables (disconnect ground). I also got a pair of m109 stands to try.

On the M109 stands make sure the top and bottom allen key screws aren't tightened too hard. Just turn them till they stop. No extra force needed.
The spikes however benefits from being as they call it, Linn tight. Also make sure to keep the base spikes as short as possible.
Edit: I almost forgot. Don't let the cables touch the stand. Because any kind of damping of the stand makes the speaker sound worse.

Klångedang T1 is the best speaker I have had at home, clearly better than the Akurate 212 they replaced. I stumbled over the JBL 308:S and I tought it would be fun to try, based on what I have read here and hopping that they would be good enough to replace Klångedang T1 and Tundra so I could free up som money and reach for a Källa.
Right now it feels that the Klångedangs will stay, sadly I feel that they perform worse since we replaced the old TV, but I will give them some TLC to see if I can find another position where they perform great again, probably further apart.

The JBL:s will be fine for the kids :-)

"Now" is better than "Then" which sounds like the speakers are too close to the back wall.
Next maybe try and move them a bit closer together and hear what happens.

Yes, always best to live in the here and now. Seriously I find the Now recording gives me back the bass quality and quantity I felt was somewhat missing compared to the JBLs in your other clips. This is very good!

Thank you Thomas, and all others who has listned and commented. Interesting to see that I had to adjust the speakers nearly 2.5 cm further out from the back wall and further apart since we changed tv for a bigger one.
Tundra and Klångedang will stay and the JBL:s will either end up in one of the kids room, or on the second hand market.

Now it will be very interesting to listen to a källa...

Boy, those are really good! I've never heard that version of My Diner before. In listening to these clips I really wasn't aware I was listening to clips of a system. Indeed I kept looking at the system and having a hard time thinking it was coming out of that system and going through an iPhone, etc. Of course, part of that is that instead of listening to the clips on the old iMac at the store and the built in speakers, I was listening through my old MacPro running into LSR305s. Whatever the case very enjoyable and definitely had me playing desk drums.

I must admit, I struggle with A-B’s using this type of music. They were quite similar, but overall I think I preferred the other one.

hey Spannko thank you for your comments - but it was not meant as an a - b comparison. I just wanted to show how much fun the 308ps can be. I am astonished at what kind of bass they throw out with this small 8 inch drivers. And looking at them they barely move for what you hear.

This music is not complex and might sound good through almost every system. Even though I have to say in the room much more comes through - my phone might have clogged mic׳s.

actually the clips where inspired by a youtube channel called Sound Sommelier playing JBL 4349s with 12inch woofers

@Thomas its interesting what JBL is able to pack into such small form factor and the 308‘s play a lot of different music very musical and fun to listen to btw its DNA and Suzanne Vega Remixes

This is really an LP12 comparison that was requested so it's '89-spec (with VM95ML stylus) versus '02-spec but I've added in K20/K400 and early/late Kan 1s into the mix cos I was comparing them myself anyway. Only K20 can be connected to the older Kans at the moment.

I prefer 6. At first I liked 3 more but the bass is just not as tuneful. The K400 is also doing what I expected by letting more music through.

I started with No. 1 and it sounded very nice, then No. 2 and so on down the line. But for me I could have stopped at No. 1 as it never got any better. More refined / Hi-Fi possibly but never more in tune / overall musical, effortless flow and emotional than No. 1.

I found No. 4 to be the runner up but overall harder to follow the tune, less emotional but more relieving with the instruments sounding possibly more lifelike one could argue.

I also preferred the early to the late K1's, I found your late ones had a heaviness coloration floating above the whole performance -especially on the voice- on all the clips they were in. The early K1's are colored to of course but more in the ways I prefer.
