Re: Nait 50
Well, it certainly looks like a Nait, now with 25wpc output and “technical improvements” for €3000. Let’s hope it doesn’t turn out to be a sheep in wolves clothing!
Re: Nait 50
Idiomatically, "if it looks like a duck and walks like a duck, it is a duck" Nothing about 'if it sounds like a duck', much less a musical one... If they've overcooked it, after 50yrs, you might be better with sauce first 🦆

Re: Nait 50
For some unfathomable reason, Naim has chosen to go with a white led. White? Are they crazy? It’s doomed to fail! Everyone knows red led’s sound best!
Re: Nait 50
A bit different to the original...

We will see how it sound ...
If it is close to 1 (red led) or 2 CB / Olive in musicality, than everything else is ...

White Light, White Heat
I think it looks really cool.

Re: Nait 50
I prefer blue LEDs! ;-)
But for a NAIT I would agree it should be red.

Re: Nait 50
Many comments from new owners on their forum, Pink Fish and so on.
Excitement all around it seems.
The silly price is purely forgotten as people seem to prefer it to both older Naits and later Supernaits.
Guess I never find out before they release(non limited) new integrated classic amps based on Nait 50.
Not a single part inside this amp seem to be identical to original Nait, well maybe the clunky buttons.

Re: Nait 50
I'm enjoying mine and it's definitely getting better since I collected on Friday. I borrowed a SN3 a few years ago and must admit it didn't do much for me but this is very enjoyable. It's slightly frenetic at times so hoping that characteristic calms down a bit over the next few weeks. To be honest, it was the enthusiasm of the designer when he commented on the Naim forum that swung it for me - it seemed like a very enjoyable project for him.
But no, it doesn't sound like a Nait 1 or 2.

Re: Nait 50
Very interesting indeed.
I have the feeling some users on the green/white forum like it very much, but hesitate to admit it walks over their Supernait 3.
Good promises for future Naim amplication.
I'd wish Naim allowed some forum free speech in order to get a good interesting dialog with less moderation, less sheepish blabla and forbidden words.
