Lindsey, It would nice to get a reveal on this set of recordings as it seems pretty unanimous. I doubt the person you want to evaluate this recording would have a different take.

Okay lidsayt, it's time to reveal the results. Members participating in this thread are encouraged to post their results within a couple days, assuming there have been a reasonable number of replies. It has been five days and there has been quite a lot of feedback on your clips.
If you are waiting for a specific person to contribute, it's time to let that go. Holding the results hostage and keeping everyone in suspense in order to compel another member to post is not acceptable.
Interesting, assuming this is the same file. They sound a bit different. BBB seems more alive to me so I prefer that one sonically. Musically, I'm struggling but BBB seemed a bit easier to follow although I'd be happy with either.
Great sound - what are you driving the Briks with?

Pretty much my impression as well. I felt the differences got a little more pronounced near the end of the clips, where there was more boogie in BBB.
Actually I shouldn't have written that. That I thought 1 is better than 2 is enough and all that matters.
The reason I wrote 'terrible' was that I thought the difference was really big and the voting was about to end. Still, unnecessary. Better to keep it strict and productive.
Talking 1 was a Linn LP12 with Cirkus, Lingo 2, Ittok LVIII, Troika, T Kable, on an original Sound Organisation turntable table, EAR 834p. It was set up and serviced by the Sound Organisation in York shortly before these recordings.
Talking 2 was an EMT 950 with EMT TSD15 SFL cartridge, with no stand. It was just placed on the floor.
You See 1 was exactly the same Linn LP12 with Cirkus, Lingo 2, Ittok LVIII, Troika, T Kable, on an original Sound Organisation turntable table.
You See 2 was exactly the same EMT 950 with EMT TSD15 SFL cartridge, with no stand. It was just placed on the floor.
You See 3 was an EMT 930 with exactly the same EMT TSD15 SFL cartridge used on the EMT 950, with no stand. It was just placed on the floor.
The recordings were all made by feeding the outputs of these vinyl sources direct into the mic input of a Windows desktop PC.
I realise that I have the benefit of hearing these vinyl sources "live". I’d be happy to give a full and honest description of how these vinyl sources sound when used in my system relative to each other and relative to the recordings. With this including an explanation of the cause of the major faults in the recordings. But maybe that would be better done in a separate thread?
Thanks, and I'm interested in hearing your 'in the room' impressions and the details of the recording process. It would be good to know why talking 1 Vs 2 was so much more distinct than the 'you see' recordings
If the difference is between google drive and dropbox then dropbox (BBB) wins. If there is something else different there are two differences which makes the comparison less worthwhile.

Nope, that's it in a nutshell and I thought I would share the links/results thinking that some here would find it interesting. I was making a few system recordings -for the first time- and I uploaded this file to Google Drive and was disappointed with the result, just sucked all the Tune and fun or "swing" out of it. I then opened an account with Dropbox and downloaded the same exact file there and was surprised how much better it sounded, still no where near to the actual experience but definitely more "In Tune" than the Google Drive version. ...So, in short, people posting here on "Playground" should take this into consideration.

I'm more interested in what you hear when you listen to your clips, lindsayt.
I hear saturation on all of them.
With the worse sounding recordings being more saturated.
Saturation is terrible from a tunedem point of view.
The saturation on these recordings make them unlistenable for pleasure. It's a masochistic exercise for me to listen to these recordings. Especially when compared to hearing the same records on the same vinyl sources with no saturation.

What exactly do you mean by saturation in this case?

Please rank them from best to worst. If you can't enjoy them, then rank them from least bad to worst.

Hmmm so what you are saying tpetsch is that you can't make a good comparison with GoogleDrive because Dropbox is more tuneful !?That really doesn't make any sense to me .
