Hi everyone! I'm new here.
I wonder if anyone can recommend a cartridge to a Thorens 209. I am currently using a Sumiko Rainer and a Gaio 2.4 MM phono stage.

Re: Pickup??
Welcome to the forum! You could always get one of the better styli from the same series e.g. Moonstone. Mind you; I haven't heard them, but that would be an easy replacement without having to change the complete cartridge.
Another idea would be to sell the Thorens and get a good Rega or a used Linn LP12, depending on your budget. But maybe you don't want to hear ideas like that...

Hi Bengt and welcome to the forum! Please be aware that English is the language used on the Lejonklou forums.
Re: Pickup??
Hi Bengt,
I don’t played the Rainer myself, my information is that this Sumiko is warm and connected and a bit blurry too in the lows. Good for pop, synth etc. So it depends on the music you love to play. If it is classical, jazz and singer/songwriter, try Nagaoka MP 100 or 200. Good search and luck, Arjen

Välkommen.
(not from personal experience, but) You could consider the Audio-Technica AT-VM95 series as discussed here...

Re: Pickup??
Another vote from me for the AT-VM95 series. My favourite is the AT-VM95C. I use it on Linn Axis and Dual CS505.
