Have there been changes to the Linn Kandid since its introduction?
I will repost my question from WigWam here in the hopes, that maybe Thomas OK or someone else can shed some light on this. Can anyone tell me, if there have been any changes to the Linn Kandid since its introduction? I'm asking because I read the specs on the Linn homepage today: the stulus was described as having a Micro Ridge cut, whereas in earlier descriptions "Line Contact" was used. Here's an interesting comparison between the frequency responses of the two cuts: https://www.ad-na.com/en/product/jewel/ ... ridge.html
Re: Have there been changes to the Linn Kandid since its introduction?
I am not aware of any changes to the Kandid and Linn certainly has not shipped us anything labeled a Kandid/1. For comparison there was an Adikt/1 and there is now an Adikt/2 and Adikt/2 Stylus. I do see where it says it is a micro-ridge stylus but I haven't seen a diamond on one that was a micro-ridge. It has been a few months since the last one I put out. I will take a close look at the next one that comes in to make sure.

On the Linn product page it does in fact refer to:
Stylus type: Nude line contact diamond

Can someone with contacts ask Linn?
Such a shame they no longer have a forum!

The dealer of a friend of in Munich already asked and Linn claimed, that there have been no changes. But the info on their homepage IS confusing.

I have two new Kandids that should be in middle of this month (they have been back-ordered for about a month). I will look at the styli under the microscope and let you know what I find.

I also have a Kandid on back order due in February and I will ask my dealer to have a look as well.

I just received the two Kandids we had on order. I put them both under our stereo, lighted, high-power Wild Heerbrugg microscope. They are the same line contact diamonds they have always used on the Kandid with the same mounting on the boron cantilever they have also always used on them. Definitely not a micro-ridge as used in many Dynavectors.
