I have finally recieved an AKTIV crossover for my isobariks. It is manufactured in -87, so it is an old piece of equipment. The problem is that the PSU is the early type, marked with 115V,and i live in sweden with 230v.So therefor I have not been able to test it.A cheap way to solve the problem would be to run it from a voltage converter(230-115v), but that would not be a nice installation.
Is there any component from LINN that shares the same PSU as the AKTIV? It would be nice to just do a swap.I know there was a slimline upgrade avaible from Linn some time ago,but it seemed to be quite a major modification, including replacment of other components. Is it possible that any of the more recent power supplies would fit?It is hard to find any circuit diagram on the web,but i have read that the output voltage from the PSU should be 18v.Any ideas or solutions is welcome.

Indeed an alternative exists, but may take patience to find.
The Dirak was an outboard power supply upgrade to the original LK1 preamp which could also be used as an upgrade for the Isobarik Aktiv crossover. It was encased in a half width LK style enclosure like the original Lingo. Here is a link with more information and fitting instructions (unofficial) which may prove helpful to you or your technician:

The Dirak was superceded by later internal switch mode power supply upgrades to the Aktiv crossover, and the replacement of the LK1 with the Kairn.
A power supply upgrade was also made available for the LK280 power amplifier - the Spark. This was a full sized LK case containing separate transformers for each channel, making the amp a fully dual mono amp even to the extent that it had separate AC plugs. This was superceded by the Klout.
Good luck in finding a 230 volt Dirak.

This is one of those questions that doesn't really have a simple answer. There were several different power supply options over the life of the Isobarik Aktiv crossover but none is a totally simple answer to your problem. As has been mentioned the Dirak is one possibility and I did actually swap one over from an LK1 back when I had Aktiv Isos. The difficulty will be actually finding one. It follows that the standard power supply from an LK1 would be another possibility and is likely to be easier to find as there are a number of dying LK1s out there and the transformer is likely to be the last thing to go on one of these so a non-functional unit being sold for parts would be a possible option especially if it lights up when powered on.
The next power supply Linn came out with is the Brilliant but I don't know if these were ever fitted to this crossover or the LK1 as they were shaped like the transformer in the Kairn, Kremlin, Karik, etc. and wouldn't likely fit in the space in the crossover. Even if it would fit they are hard to find and many of them are starting to fail as well. Finally there is the SMPS also called the Slimline Brilliant. Linn used to update older Aktiv crossovers with this but they no longer do. While you might be able to get your hands on one of these power supplies it is not a simple thing to fit as it requires removal of some of the power supply circuitry on the main board and replacing them with some links. You would really need to find someone who knows what they are doing to perform this kind of upgrade.
Overall your best bet would be to get in touch with a good Linn service technician and see if they have access to any of the parts you would need. One good possibility is Class A Hi-Fi Servicing and repairs in the UK. They do a lot of repairs on Linn products that Linn no longer work on so they would likely be a good bet. I have talked to Darran there and he is very helpful. Here is a link for them: http://www.hifi-repairs.com/
Sorry there isn't a simpler solution but that gives you some idea of the options. Good luck.
