I plan to improve my amp section : my akurate 242 are run by a A4200 and a M6100. I'll probably replace the A6100 by a A4200 +A 2200 and I want to know if anybody has ever tested the new Akurate amps and what is the difference between the new and the old version. Thanks for your replies

The biggest difference will be between, dynamiked and non dynamiked.
The new case makes a subtle difference, but nothing to worry about.

From what I have read here and there, it seems that I'd better wait until I find a pair of second hand klimax solos. I'm just wondering where i can finf one at a reasonable price , and what a reasonable price would be for these
amps. Any suggestion?

The internals of the old A4200 are identical to the new A4200 - it was simply a change of case. So if you are looking for another I would simply go for one with the same case to match.

I do have a A4200 Dynamik for sale on ebay/my website at the moment (Krescendohifi). I would be happy to get a brand new black case from Linn if you would prefer at the asking price if you would be happy with a private sale.

For a pair of Solos you are looking at £6000+ and quite a lot + for a later model. Peter Tysons are known to often have them.

A Klimax Twin/D sound great with 242s.

I prefer it to Akurate Aktiv.

By the way, has anybody tried or tester nuforce amps with linn loudspeakers? The press seams to be quite enthousiastic about these amps and I'm wondering if that would not be a good association.

I have not, but will listen to them the first chance possible. Like you, I've heard mostly positive comments, considering the price range.
