Re: Latest records to enter your collection
I had a very happy couple of hours at Exeter record fair with my youngest.
£50 cash set our limit and off we went. We stuck to the charity stalls and found 13 albums, of which this was one.
I was explaining to my youngest that I wanted this album (£3) because I spent a very formative couple of years there, and I saw some of these bands at The Marquee (Wardour St, London), when the stall holder said he probably sold me my beers! He recognised the obscure and now forgotten bands my friends and I saw so many times on the Marquee's tiny stage.
He was only there for the 2 years that I was, so such a coincidence that we connected in an obscure corner of the South West!

Re: Latest records to enter your collection
I have recently learned of a group called Fire! Orchestra.
As an introduction, try the track Crystal Blue Fire from the album Arrival. The intro is long and meandering, but be patient as those bass acoustic instruments really set the scene for the track as a whole. Sit back and let it carry you to somewhere else.

Re: Latest records to enter your collection
Excellent beck! I’m struggling with the bottom three though 🕵️♂️
Re: Latest records to enter your collection
What an excellent gift!
I think I know the middle two and the bottom right one. Not sure about the others.

Re: Latest records to enter your collection
A little help may be needed. : )
The artists are: Toto, Yello, ELO, Pink Floyd and The Beatles. One band is featured twice.

The bottom left looks very familiar, but I can’t quite place it. I’m sure I’ll kick myself when all is revealed!

My guesses are Beatles 1, Dark Side of the Moon, Yello, ELO (I don't know which of either of those) and I have no idea on the last two.

Since You like the wibe on Chrystal Blue Fire I highly recommend this album: Teho Teardo & Blixa Bargeld – Nerissimosunbeamgls wrote: ↑2024-12-18 00:00 I have recently learned of a group called Fire! Orchestra.
