Is anyone planning to upgrade to 17 this coming week, and prepared to report on any impact on control point musicality, positive or negative?

It seems there may be some (useful?) changes to the AirPlay interface in 17 that could possibly streamline connecting the Spotify app to Kalla, but I haven't seen any changes that suggest planned sonic improvements... So it remains to be seen/heard whether it's better, worse, or the same as 16 in that regard.

iPad mini now 17.0. Update took about 20 minutes. I don't hear any losses via Spotify.

I think it’s better and more engaging. Harder to turn the system off at the end of the night.

I fully agree, the musicality improved even further to my ears. WOW!

Has anyone upgraded to 18.3 yet?

Reason for asking is I saw something about AirPlay related CVEs receiving fixes in this OS release, so curious if any audio changes have been heard? Thks.

I can offer an answer to my 2nd question: we're fortunate to have his & hers iPad Minis so I 'tested' 18.3 on hers first as it's not the primary control point... No obvious problems reported so I updated mine, and accepted the latest Spotify app update a few days ago. No critical comparison, but listening this evening was notably enjoyable so 18.3 appears to be good.

Updated my iPad Mini 6 to 18.4 yesterday, and the most recent version of the Spotify app*. Sounding good here. Anyone else 'rocking' 18.4, and care to share their thoughts?


* not the most recent: I left it on the previous app version so that it was one change at a time...

Installed the update and noticed no loss in sound quality.

There have been a few Spotify updates recently. I haven't noticed any changes in the sound either.

Has anyone tested the iPad mini 7 as controlpoint yet?
