There will now be a temporary pause in the deliveries of Källa, due to a component shortage. I don’t know exactly how long it will be until shipments can be resumed, but I will let you know in this thread.

I really hope that component shortage is only temporary and the part missing is something that can be sourced again. I press my thumbs that you dont have to get to the drawing board to work around that component.

It will be sorted. The main part of the challenge is that I need a lot of components, because only a small percentage of them are exactly right for Källa. My intern Oscar measures them in three different ways and then we calculate using these numbers to find which parts are suitable for Källa (half of which still don’t behave perfectly after warm up and need to be replaced). He’s starting on a couple of hundred on Monday, I’m hoping some of them will fit the bill!

Out of curiosity, Fredrik. What percentage of the components don't meet the requirements? What happens with these, are they discarded, or do you sell them on?

This is a specific component which is the most difficult. Less than 4% are used and the number is shrinking, because the previous batch turned out to be unusuitable due to being completely out of range.

I save everything, hoping I can use them for some other product in the future. They’re measured and marked, so it becomes really easy to get high precision right away.

Thankfully not all components are like this. With some, we’re really lucky. Like a 10kOhm resistor we use, it’s amazingly accurate. When they’re all measured, more than 90% are useable.
