Is Källa running Linux?

I am discussing with some Volumio developers the merits of cpuset vs systemd and cgroup to apply a form of separation of music playback process resources.

Frederik, is this something your team have looked at?

Ultimately I think we would have to implement the two mechanisms and listen for differences, but there's a reasonable amount of work involved in doing so.

I wondered if this is something you have already explored.

Yes, Linux. And yes, we've experimented with that and many other things.

Unfortunately, there are no simple answers as to what performs best. Every combination needs to be evaluated by ear and parameters can either be independent or interdependent.

Ha! Well, in fact I'm encouraged by your response.

I think it means I'm not wasting my time. I will consider implementing something that allows the different parameters to be adjusted relatively easily.
