I suspect Fredrik’s attention to detail is unmatched in the whole industry.

The big question for me is are any of these units making their way to the UK? Given my previous experience of Lejonklou products, I’d be happy to buy one sight unseen!

how about this Fredrik (maybe you do that already)
parallize the process
lets say you have 10 units now - fit the 10 units with the 10 different values or components. Let them heat up all together and test them
than work further with the best sounding value/ component and xcheck if its still sounding best in all the other 9 units

Hopefully! There’s not enough room to specify I haven’t heard the KDS Organic, but the Vitus was so far ahead anyway. Given Fredrik’s track record I have very high hopes.

Thank you everyone!

There's a fine line between commitment and unhealthy obsession.

If I had a boss, she would have declared the project finished long ago. But now I'm the boss.

I remember Ivor saying that the most difficult task is to know when a product is ready. There's always a possibility you'll be able to improve it further, if you just keep throwing time and money on it. Well, he was right. And I really appreciate being in charge of this decision.

Acrobatics on a high wire Fredrik? Saved by Bungee Cord sometimes during the walk?

True indeed.
Plus, stopping at a healthy level both brings the product to the market in time possibly avoiding potential customers buying other products (whether hi-fi or spending on other priorities) and as a side-effect makes a future version 2.0 somewhat better (relatively).

Why not? Depends on how long they have considered buying something else before they heard about Källa. Not everybody is absolutely sure about buying a 6 000 € streamer unheard and may have/run into other expenses. And potentielly a significant other that may long for something else.

Sorry I disagree,
this short delay does not count for these decisions.

yes Cortina what you say is true ... for other brands and products but for the first movers (early adopters) here I think the considered alternatives are limited.

So all what you say is true and thats the approach of 99.9% of other businesses especially being happy with the 80% rule for product features and quality.

Fredrik is different and thats why we are not necessarily „happy to wait“ but we wait as we know its worth it.
The only competition for me is investing the money in other products from him :)

I think you are working either in Sales, Marketing or Product Management (with Sales being my first guess)

On that I totally agree.
I was commenting on the general issue of not knowing when to stop. Not a few days.
In general it can be months or

Not even true for other brands. We have a worldwide shortage of chips. A lot of products are delayed for example Schiit products in the US. They announced products for the end of last year which are not yet ready and people are waiting patiently.

You’re occupation guesses were interesting but mostly wrong.
But I am quite convinced that there are people outside this small group that are contemplating what to upgrade to or even shall I really spend money on another streamer or be happy with What I have got etc. There is a risk that not being available may tip the balance. (Again as I was commenting in general not days or two weeks delay).

Kantata Audio will have a demo unit from the first batch!

Looking forward to it in the coming days.

Please get in touch if you want to arrange a demo.

Apart from too little CO2 (in canisters), too much CO2 (in the atmosphere), emptying supermarket shelves (too few lorry drivers), collapsing energy suppliers....

As a child of the seventies it almost makes me nostalgic for the winter of discontent
