Quite amusing. It took me a minute to catch it. Unfortunately, Källa's are not all gone to look for America. Fredrik says I have to share them. ;-)

Well Tom, not every Frisian born guy left Holland long ago to sail to America like Pieter Stuyvesant did and changed their name in Peter. Some stayed in their homeland like my ancestors did. Some Kalla’s stay in their hometown Uppsala like the 012 and don’t have to be renamed Kelly, like Haarlem is renamed Harlem, Breukelen renamed Brooklyn.

You don't even want to get me started on American renaming. Not only is is legend but so is our mispronunciation. I work in Ann Arbor and near us is the town Milan but pronounced Mīlan, Saline but pronounced Salīne and and the street North Delhi pronounced Delhī! It drives me crazy every time I hear the last one. Where I grew up we had main streets of Charlevoix and Kercheval. I'll let you imagine how badly those were butchered. My mother's maiden name was Ciaramitaro. Some of my second cousin's families just changed the spelling to Shermitaro to make it easier on people in the US.

Of course, the likelihood many people will pronounce Källa properly (basically Shell-ah) is pretty slim. Especially since in my research even the Norwegians don't pronounce it that way.

Well Tom,
I hope the Kalla 012 will land soon in Michigan, Inshallah. Whatever its pronunciation. Others might not sail the western ocean, but other directions.

Fredrik,
what about one post where all Källas are listed with their destination, with the latest Källa on top, always updated?

That's an idea but if people post comments, that first and regularly updated post will perhaps not be so visible.

I won't do this forever, so I'll just let it be like this for now.

When Kalla left Uppsala and landed in Brussels
Fredriks footprints are everywhere
……
Everything’s gonna be different
After Fredrik had made his masterpiece.

Even if we haven't heard it yet I know - as with any of your products - it will be more than worth the wait.
So far all have exceeded my expectations.....and then some.

RRP of Källa in the UK has been set at £ 5600 incl. VAT.
Why is Källa £600 more expensive in the UK?

£600 more expensive than what anyway?
It’s still superb value whichever way you look at it.

I think I make the difference £300 compared to the SEK price, or £150 for Boazu.

Let’s use the Boazu as an example.

Sweden: Boazu 29000 SEK = £2454
Germany/Netherlands/Belgium: Boazu €2950 = £2486
UK: £2800

Why is the Boazu more expensive in the UK? The UK/EU Trade and Cooperation Agreement should ensure parity for products manufactured within the UK/EU region.

The price differences are in short a consequence of Brexit regulations that have considerably driven up costs to now export to the UK.
This is not just a matter of bare costs but also an increased administrative workload that accompanies it.

When the UK was still part of Europe we could simply ship as if it were to Belgium or Germany - in some occasions we could even arrange direct shipping from Lejonklou HQ in Sweden to the UK. As we all know, that boat has meanwhile sailed.
Now every order destined for the UK has to be sent to us in Amsterdam and then exported to the UK.
With UK upgrades that require to be returned to Sweden this route has be followed back and forth.

Although delivery times have bettered now, the costs of shipping have also increased and probably not only because of Brexit but also Covid-19 playing a part. The fact that this pandemic has lead to more online shopping and shipping only seems to have encouraged courier services to increase their tariffs as we all have become more dependant upon it.

While there's a global tendency of individual parts becoming increasingly difficult to source and component suppliers seem to increase their pricing simply because of current demand and availability, we hope to be able to maintain our current price level for some time to come.
