On the QT, they both sound equal in musicality to my ears. The music simply flows.

I have to admit, after repeated listening on two separate occasions, that I find the second recording easier to follow, more rhythmic, and more enjoyable. The biggest difference I hear on the vocals, but I hear a difference all the way through the recording. Now I don't pretend to be an 'expert' of the tune dem method. What 'musicality' means to me may be something entirely different for someone else.

I prefer the second one too, the groove is more irresistable.

I don't trust myself to not be affected by other people's results, so I did it blindly. I played one three times, then switched. Played the other one twice and decided it was worse. Then checked the urls.

Turns out I prefer the second one as well. Hmm.

I am also preferring the second clip. I agree it is most obvious on the vocals but I find something a bit better about the kick drum as well. Just a bit better feel of rhythm.

I have no preference.

Not what we expected but interesting. I re-listened with my best cans - both clips sounded too close for me to differentiate. I found more accurate reviews of the 320 and X-25m series published at the time of release. They both used an Intel controller chip (PC29AS21BA0) subsequently dropped -that may have been the key to these SSDs being so good for audio.
