Hakai with/without USB Isolation Card

Post by FairPlayMotty »

The following two clips are from the same Hakai. One is recorded from a USB 2.0 slot on the Gigabyte board, the other is from the USB slot on the Elfidelity USB Isolation Card (£33). Which do you prefer?

Happy listening!
Everything is a remix: Copy, Transform, Combine.

For what it's worth. I like the 2nd clip best.

I'm skeptical of test music without rhythm, but yeah.. I think I prefer clip#2 too.

You hear a lot more of the emotion in her voice coming through in the second one.

I liked the second clip best, as did my daughter.

(Though I have to admit I often get confused by a slight shimmer in the high frequencies which I suspect represent the individual recording’s quality rather than the music played)
