Choose one Lejonklou product.

Post by beck »

If you could only choose one Lejonklou product. What would it be?

I am in no doubt myself that I would get a Giella Pi. The way it plays music is right up my alley.

It's kind of cheating - but I've already chosen Boazu and would not be without it

Difficult.

I would not like to let any of my lejonklou boxes go, but but you would have to fight me to get my sagatun monos.

Tough call but I'll go with my Sagatun Monos. They are a very unique and special product.

Choose (not pay for ;): Singularity
Choose (from what I have): Sagatuns
Choose (from what I've not heard): between Entity, Giella, & Källa ... so Källa because source first :D (esp since I have the Sagatuns :)

SINGularity, no question, although that is automatically two products. So are the Sagatun Monos and Tundra Monos which I have no intention on giving up either. But I'd give hem up and go with a Boazu 1.3 before giving up the SINGularity pair. (I have heard the combination, even used it for a brief time at a Hi-Fi show.)

This is even more the case as SINGularity is about to get better. At least version 1.3 out soon, maybe even a higher number.

NO!!! I'm not giving up any of them!

But I would consider a Boazu instead of my four monos, once the version with integrated Kalla becomes available...

And will this trickle down to Entity?

If it only makes it to 1.3 (which has been verified to be a definite upgrade) no. If it goes beyond that it might be possible it would trickle down but it might not be possible.

To elucidate a little further, Fredrik is currently building a pair of SINGularity that one of my dealers has sold. Having not tried anything new on it for a couple of years he had a bunch of ideas he wanted to try out. As is often the case most of them didn't work out. The two that did are power supply mods and therefore not applicable to the Entity. He is trying one last idea he came up with but I don't know what it is so I can't say if it is specific the the SINGularity. One bit of good news is that while he was doing it he decided to retest all the other parameters and found that they were all spot on. He was frankly surprised how well it was designed in the first place (I wasn't). Since most of the audio circuitry in the Entity is the same it means it is also as good as it can get. For now.

+1 Especially after the experiences with the Sagatuns over the last few weeks. But would also fight for Entity and Tundra ...

Although I've only heard it on clips, I'd go for the Giella Pi

For one source and manual volume control - Giella Pi is fantastic as a preamp, and headphone amp.

Sagatun Monos gives ( I think) even better preamp ability with multiple input option and remote volume control, but no headphone option.

Source is clearly top of the heirarchy but a good analogue preamp is not far behind in my opinion, and a poor preamp ( especially some digital volume controls) can really blunt the musical performance of the source.

Of all the Lejonklou components I've heard, the Singularities are certainly the most impressive to my ears. Although all of his components sound great and are certainly impressive as well.

If no one mention the Slipsik phono preamp, wether it is the 6.1 or 7.1, I do.

As we speak of 1st of April announcements: The Tundra Global Warming Edition (with 6 channels) might come in handy to replace my Linn C6100/D.

Sorry, but what can I say, if I may only pick 1 item? ;-)

One "product" - doesn't say you can't have 3 instances of the same Lejonklou product, so 3 Tundra Stereos for you ;)
