A poll for Sagatun owners

Hi all Sagatun owners!

I'm running a poll to find out how many of the inputs you're using. Vinyl, digital streamer, disc spinner, TV? Or maybe just one into the Single Source input?

Please tick the option that matches your situation. You can only choose one option - if you own more than one Sagatun or more than one pair of Sagatun Mono's, then please post a message about it below!

You can re-vote if your system changes.

Thank you for your help!

Not trying to over-think this, but would like to make sure you get what you need from my answer to your poll...

I usually have 2 sources plugged in, but have 4 sources total: streamers; turntable; radio. I expect to pick 1 streamer, and plan to mount an antenna outside so that I can add in the receiver. So my answer could be 2, 3, or 4, depending.

I voted for three. As you know right now I am running the system with only the LP12 hooked up as I enjoy the full majesty of the complete dual mono setup. However, I have a HAKAI (currently on loan to another forum member), and a Kremlin both of which may end up being hooked back up depending on what happens when I connect the two channels together. I have an RCA cable with no pins I can use to test just what connecting the grounds does to the music when I get a chance. I also currently have a CD12 on long term loan that could end up as a permanent fixture so it also could end up being four.

I've got four sources connected to my Monos. LP12 into single source; streamer; Kremlin; and TV. The TV spends maybe two days a month in situ, the rest of the time it's stored out of the way as I hardly ever watch it and it degrades the sound if left in place. So three inputs would easily work for me, I'd just unplug something if I wanted the TV. In fact two would work IF the second one was as good as the single source - I'd just keep LP12 and Kremlin, and change leads if I wanted to stream.

EDIT: For clarity, if the sound quality can be improved by reducing the number of inputs, I'd be in favour. Accordingly, I'm changing my vote from 4 to 3 sources.as the TV is very occasional.

I have a Sagatun Stereo which I am very very happy with. Bought it without hearing any Lejonklou Electronics before.
I might later attach a turntable but try to buy some time with testing DSD rips from my SACD‘s and look how far I can get with it.

Thank you!

I knew this would be tricky. And you have more sources than I thought - I seem to know disproportionally many people with a single source.

I will soon post a poll for Boazu owners as well!

Were you trying to find out how many inputs customers are currently using, or the maximum number of inputs customers will use concurrently during the lifetime of the product in their system?

I voted for three sources for my Monos. I have two permanent sources, streamer and UHD-player, and sometimes a laptop.

I variably play with Sagatun Monos, Stereo and Boazu, but Monos most of the time so that's my entry here.

LP12 and KDS are the main sources but since I installed the Aqua CD-transport/DAC this has regained my interest in CD playback so I now have 3 inputs in permanent use.

I have LP12 / KDS/2 and the pre out feed on the AV amp ( to run Left and Right front speakers on Unity Gain.)

LP 12 is on single source although, as it sounds so good without it on, I usually forget to switch it.

Have 3 sources connected. LP12, chromcast audio and a Karik/Numerik. Well I have actually 2 LP12:s but only one connected at the same time.

I’ve voted for two sources into Monos but wanted to add that the second is using Unity gain which is very important for me.

Hello,

I have total 4 different sources for my Sagatun Mono.

1. Turntable
2. Digitial Streamer
3. CD player
4. Bluray player

And actually, i would like to add one more turntable for my near future, and maybe temporary hook it onto the direct input for the usage... As i don't want to add an external input selector which may degrade the SQ.

Thank you

Which is the final aim of the present poll?

If there is a market for a new Kikkin....

And I would prefer it with a trditional volume control ;-)

Its a no brainer (easy for me to say)
With experience from Sagatun and Boazu.
In the Gaio/Slipsik housing

After that its time for Super-Lingo

The first one.

It's difficult making polls! When I worked in healthcare, I made some questionnaires that were sent to lots of patients. It took a really long time formulating the questions so that they 1) were simple to understand, 2) answered the question that we wanted answered and not something else, 3) didn't contradict one another, 4) came in a logical progression with no dead ends, 5) covered all the options that the patient might consider relevant, etc, etc. Really hard!

I didn't think too hard before posting this poll. I could have asked how many sources you have, how many sources you currently have hooked up, how many you would like to have hooked up, the maximum number of sources you think you will ever be likely to hook up, the lowest number of inputs you could accept, etc. To keep it simple, I went with "How many right now".

Finally! ;o)

Just better knowledge. There are a lot of possible options when designing a preamp or an integrated, and it's really helpful to rule out some of them. I've had the impression that two sources seems very common (one analogue, one digital), but this poll so far shows three to be more common. And also that four might be enough.

No, that wasn't the reason. The single input Kikkin is just too limited. I did design a follow up called Trikkin (with three inputs), but that project ended up in Sagatun instead.

With traditional volume control, do you mean a big round knob that you turn from 7 o'clock to 5 o'clock? What about remote control?

I did mean a control similar to Naim volume controls and no remote. Have just bought an old NAC72 and looked inside. Its very modular and gives an insight in how few components thats needed to create a single source pre amp. Of course power supply is also needed, and this might be the most complicated part.
