The qualifying to wear cowboy boots only applies if you live in Texas.

Thanks for clearing that up, Jeff!

We've just packed down the system after a more quiet but very positive third day. One gentleman ordered a Boazu on the spot and we got to talk to and play for several members of the press.

It must have been hard work so glad that it was rewarding for you both.

Hope the press pick up on the Lejonklou brand (and get it).

The first thing I ever saw of Fredrik was a cowboy boot protruding from beneath a car door as he stepped out of a car on a cold dark night. Not what I was expecting but he makes it work :)

Did you hear any Spaghetti Western music playing as he got out of the car? :-)

Funny last post regarding the 3677's

Nokturne and Lejonklou showing with JBL theater speakers... very nice! The thin speakers worked better with the narrow room than most. Electronics are Mr Lejonklou's passion and they certainly made the JBLs sound great. Very enjoyable demo!

Reading some of the other comments about clicks & pops, and how can people listen to LPs as a serious hi-fi medium, it seems like there could be some prejudice & perception bias...

For me the RMAF isn't quite over as I am a little under two thirds of the way home on a 20 hour drive. Because of this I haven't had much time to give a full report. In brief, I think it was a great show. Both Fredrik and I felt things went very well and we definitely got noticed - which is what this is all about. The fact that the room has already been mentioned positively on two blogs is an indication that this went much better than the last show I did in 2014 where I really received no press coverage. I expect more coverage to follow.

In the meantime here are some photos from the room to whet your appetite:

The first is Fredrik and Michael Fremer who visited the room, complimented Fredrik on the Gaio which will be reviewed very soon and took a photo of Fredrik. The second one is the new Boazu which performed exceptionally - incredible work Fredrik! The others probably don't need an explanation. I know there are questions and interest in the speaker grills and I will get to that later in the week.

A big Thank you for the pictures! Nice to hear all went well.
Those speaker grills sure look good, nice work!

Congratulations, Fredrik, on the launch of Boazu!

Not directly related to RMAF but related to Michael Fremer is his recent blog review of the Audio Alchemy's new phone preamp. It was highly positive towards the Gaio, possibly more so then the Audio Alchemy:

I am hoping his RMAF coverage includes observations on the Lejonklou room.

Some really bizarre comments. 'I really wouldn't recommend these speakers for high end audio'.
OK then, why not?
Seems a bit strange to dismiss vinyl because of clicks n pops too.
However, what's obvious was that everyone enjoyed it, listening to some cool tunes and had fun. That's the main thing right?

Simple: They don't sound polite. There's no 3D soundstage and no sense of a high resolution sweet treble. They rather sound like when you sit right in front of the stage at a live concert. They're in your face, sometimes a bit shouty, always delivering dynamics in a realistic way.

That isn't High End. Then again I don't think I have ever cared for anything labeled High End.

I am sure those speakers must sound fantastic because there is no getting away from it, they are the ugliest in the world. I just could not live with them. I would still be seeing those slit-eyed open-mouthed monsters still staring at me even with my eyes closed.

All IMHO, of course.

I kind of like the raw, industrial look of the original boxes, but I fear my life would take a fast ending if I even suggested to put them in our living room.

donuk,
have you seen the set-up of Christian on the first page of the 3677 thread?
IMO, they are looking nice and suitable for a living room.

That's a fair point but the guy never explained why he didn't think they were a good idea! Cheers for explaining.

Jane said they looked like washing machines, I suppose I could have a pair in our utility room.

When Thomas and Fredrik are fully rested - it might be good to hear some more about Boazu and how it compares to the monos.

I presume the ones at RMAF were upgraded monos but how is Boazu compared to non upgraded monos , or even the stereo combination.

Once the streamer sees the light of day - might we see an integrated one box streamer/Boazu ?

The Sagatun Mono 1.1 - Tundra Mono 2.0A pair that Boazu was demonstrated against on all three days at RMAF were not the new Tarandus versions.

I shipped the first new pair of Tarandus Sagatun Mono's today. Upgrades start tomorrow the 14th!

Other Tarandus upgrades (Tundra Mono, Sagatun and Tundra) will follow later.
