Stylus Show - Park Inn Heathrow, London 23rd and 24th April 2016

Post by HIDDENSYSTEMS »

Hidden Systems will be exhibiting this weekend Saturday 23rd- Sunday 24th April 2016 at the Park Inn, Heathrow, London.

We are in the Wright Suite that's 44 sq.m showing various performance levels of LP12s. Other products include Tiger Paw Audio, Totem Acoustics, Rega Research and Lejonklou.

This is a public paying event and can be found via https://www.chestergroup.org/stylusviny ... 16/tickets

It's UK’s only dedicated analogue music event with new and used vinyl for sale; turntables galore; hi-fi systems; artwork displays; seminars on turntable set up; classic album listening sessions; plus live music, there will be something for everyone no matter what their relationship with vinyl.

If your in the area pop in, it would be good to see you there.

Chris, all the best,
do you have a LP12 with TPA Akula sub chassis on demonstration?

Roger TP is bringing two decks with his upgrades with my 3+ decks. I visited the room "Wright Suite- the Wright Brothers aviator" tonight to understand its acoustics. Like Wim at Joeint the Totem distributor says, "fire across the short wall" - LINN say "use Space" I'm sat on fence me....

My system sounded better across the short wall, I liked being closer to the speakers but unfortunately it was impractical in our living room. If I am in the position in the future to do another room I'm definitely going to think first and foremost about having the speakers firing across instead of down the room.

Looks fantastic!

You know I really wanted to be there, but sadly I couldn't.

Anyone here besides Chris who attended?

This was my first time hearing Lejonklou, can you believe. When I arrived, the configuration was top spec LP12 into Sagatun monos and Klimax Solos. I did get to perve a Tundra2 mono up close, however, when Chris brought one over for me to stroke. So nice.
I've said it before, but my end-goal is to have a trio of T2 monos under the LCD, feeding the 3 front-end speakers.

Back to the query...
Music. Not hi-fi.... music.
Didn't matter whether it was the Klimax LP12 or a slightly more modest set-up with Ekos 1 and a £400 cartridge. I was enjoying some fine music. All the usual self-conscious analysis trying to assess the different bandwidths, etc; became quite redundant. The presentation was an aural treat.
As you can see from the pics above - the brand banners looked pretty impressive, too. Each one had the same visual real estate.

FLjk - I admired the occasional blinking LEDs in varying colours on the Sagatuns.... is that to indicate an increase in volume? Like a benign animation, to assure the listener that the pre- is engaging with its input. I like.

[Sidenote: was also good to chat with Roger from Tiger Paw and get the background to the company's origins and their mission]

I should add, well done, Chris/ Hidden Systems and Roger/ Tiger Paw. It looked like a lot of hard work had gone into preparing the room and it paid off. Definitely an advantage to have taken out a suite as opposed to a pokey room - especially with the calibre of equipment on demo. Plenty of space for both music and convivial discussions to circulate.

Thank you! I can think of no higher praise.

The blinking in colour you saw on the Sagatuns was probably Chris raising or lowering the volume by remote. Instead of a number between 0 and 100, it shows a colour on a gradual scale from purple to blue, cyan, green, yellow, orange and finally red.

After three seconds, it fades out.
