New forum

Like the look but can you please add 'View New Posts' as I used that pretty much excusively.

Thanks

Just found it, thanks. Might be better to have it and some of the others showing all the time. Although it makes the board a little less personalised I think it is better that the general operation of forums across the internet is the same as you then don't have to scratch you head each time you visit trying to remember the quirks of that forum.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Got a few others by email. Implementing them all might make it crammed, especially on the mobile version (unlike the website, the forum does have a mobile version and there's not much I can do about it). But I'll collect these suggestions and then have a look at it.

Re: New mobile forum

Fredrik,
sorry, but I am not very happy with the mobile version of the forum at all.
IMO, it is very important to see at the first view the author and the time of the last post in the four categories.
Now, you have to open each category to get this information, that is cumbersome.
I would be happy to have something like a full forum version on my mobile screen.
The old version was perfect in this way.
Please be so kind to fix this problem.
Thanks
KR

I suggest merging both "new forum" threads.

One thread is about the website, this one is about the forum. I prefer to keep them separate.

Understand your intentions, but both threads contain feedback on the forum and web...

Not really.

Nothing about the website in this thread.
Nothings specific about the forum in the website thread.

Some nice images, e.g. from page one of the "Lejonklou Gaio" thread have been removed. Why?

I would really like if you could add support for tapatalk (https://tapatalk.com) doesn't seem too complicated.

Thanks, Jerry

Re: New mobile forum

Fredrik,
please excuse my persistence, but I do not understand why we need a special forum version for mobiles. I do a lot of my internet connections via my iPhone and I do not want to be handicapped by some special mobile version, that is a permanent source of annoying. In this regard I love the Linn Forum (and the old Lejonklou Forum), it is(was) absolutely the same on my laptop and my mobile and it is(was) fast and works(ed) superbly.
Please, please make the same version available for our mobiles.
Thank you so much.

I agree with Matt, and find it very frustrating that even when I click "Request Desktop Site" in Chrome on my iPhone I still get the mobile version.

I use an iPhone 6, it has a big screen and I'm very comfortable zooming in if I need to. I really don't need a simplified version of the site...

Agreed,
and I want to add that I like so much the new Lejonklou Desktop Forum Site, that I must have this site on my mobile too.
The difference between the Desktop and Mobile site is staggering.

I've sent a couple of PMs: Friday lunch time & just now Saturday morning, but they're both sitting in my Outbox. Is this related to the new forum or is it specific to me?

Anyone else successfully sending/receiving PMs?

The pm functions are exactly as before.

When you send a pm, it goes to your Outbox. And it stays there until the recipient reads it. Then it's moved to your Sentbox.

The Full Forum Site works perfectly on an Apple iPad, so it should be possible to make it work on an IPhone too.

Working perfectly on my iPhone 6+
Not sure I understand your concern with not having a full site version for smartphones.
For me it's better having a scaled down mobile version

Going to "Board Index" I would like to see the author and the time of the last post and a button to go directly to the last post like with the old forum.
If you can do this with your iPhone congratulations. Otherwise it is a handicapped mobile version.

Please try "new post". You'll find the button that takes you to the first unread post = perfect.
I have that view prestored on both my PC and smartphone.
