Thank you!

I'm happy you liked it!
usjaz wrote:Is there a picture of mono you can share? How about dimensions? is it smaller than Tundra?
Tundra Mono looks exactly like Tundra when seen from the front. Same size, same two blue lights. You have to check the rear to see whether it's a stereo Tundra or a Tundra Mono.
usjaz wrote:does it have auto-sensing 120/240V power? or like Tundra require manual switch?
Just like Tundra, it will be internally configured for either 90-132 V or 187-264 V. For some, this might be impractical. But if performance is top priority, there is no better way to do it. Especially for the 90-132 V operation.

I will receive the first ten units in the middle of December. Eight are already booked. I will start shipping them when I've made sure they sound as good as, or better than, my final Proto 1 and 2.

In early January the second shipment will arrive.

I think in January.

Current plan is that the introduction will be in Luleå, Sweden.
Next demo will probably be in Göteborg, Sweden. Or in Hartley Wintney, UK.

I had the opportunity to listen to the Tundra mono this weekend.

Really impressed with the musicality.

Congrats Fredrik.

Maybe get a marketing partner to work with you. So you marketing and product development can go in parallel?
I disagree.

And Fredrik, I also disagree with your statement - you are a great sales person!
People investing in expensive HIFI are often highly educated and have positions where they on a daily basis deal with other companies.
I'm quite sure they appreciate your honesty, down to earth approach and LACK of marketing buzzwords.
They are not fooled by advertising campaigns and sales pitches.

The BEST (the only way imho) way to market a product is:
- design a spectacular product
- create long-term relationship with retailers and customers
- avoid overhead to obtain a competitive price/performance ratio
- take responsibility of ALL previously sold products = repair and upgrades

All in all, to offer true VALUE!

This create dedicated and loyal retailers and customers.
THEY market you products Fredrik!!!!
They will tell their customers, friends, neighbors and colleagues, they will write on forums like this.

This is a more effective way marketing products than all other possible ways.
At least long term.
It's all about musical understanding!

Which I wholeheartedly agree with. Steer well clear from the sort of marketing that certain companies employ, where the marketers clearly have no idea who they're dealing with. I've only met you once, but your passion, ability and honesty shone through.

Thank you Kevin!

First ten Tundra Mono's arrived yesterday. Had number 001 run in overnight and gave it a thorough listen this evening. I confess to being pretty nervous. It was my 45th birthday, I spent most of it in the lab and I was waiting for the final verdict of the Mono's. Pass or fail?

The main difference from the final prototypes is that, instead of being completely hand soldered, number 001 (and all to follow) are machine soldered in two steps. I've found that machine soldering, when done right, can sound better when connecting to many layers and large copper planes in the boards. So the machine soldered boards have a potential for slightly higher performance than the prototypes. If all has gone well in the production, that is.

And all went well. Number 001 sounds better than the final prototypes. Slightly more in tune, a little more exact and with a bit more emotion in the songs. What a great birthday present!

Tomorrow: Number 002. Now heating up on the test bench.

As this thread was split, I will answer hcl's question about when the Mono's will appear in Göteborg:

The introduction will be in Luleå, Sweden, the 12th of January 2013.

A week or two later, I will visit Göteborg, Sweden. Date not yet decided.

Fredrik - Can we get some photos of the new Tundra Mono please?

I know it's going to be very similar to the Tundra, but I'd like to see front and rear views.

The front is exactly the same.
The back has the left in and outputs absent.

Merry Christmas.

Thanks. Anyone know the reason for having two LEDs still? I would have thought one would make it clearer that this is the Mono version.

Rufus: Same grills on stereo as on Mono. The front and the cover are exactly the same, while the bottom (more screws) and rear (less connectors) differ.

Rowland: The power supplies are still two: One is positive and the other is negative. They feed one blue light each.

I will take a picture of the rear of Tundra Mono in January. Merry Christmas!

If you were going to mix mono and stereo Tundras in the same system, you would really want them all looking the same ie 2 lights each box.
