And Safari indicates as unsafe website
The unsafe website message often relates to a certificate, root certificate or trust authority issue.

If the certificate of the website had expired we'd all see warnings, or if there was a problem with the website certificate path, that would show for all visitors too.

Perhaps the certificate path is not valid for your machine - I would expect it to affect other websites too. You could check for system updates and see if that resolves the issue.

Removing the shortcut and add it again, seems to have solved this issue, weird

Thank you Nature!

The internal server errors have been popping up about once a week for me. Seconds later things work normally.

I get no response when I let them know, they just say everything's looking good. Acceptable response? It's not frequent, if it had been I would have moved the website already.

Apologies for the downtime between late last night (Central European Time) and 12:45 today.

Webhost decided to suddenly change the IP address and didn't inform me.

I'm having issues with unread posts.

When the circular icon to the left of a topic is lit (coloured), indicating that there is a new, unread post (or posts), I've always clicked the icon and been taken to the first of the unread posts. There is a smaller icon to the left of an unread post, also lit.

This doesn't work anymore. Instead I get the following behavior:

1) Clicking the circular, lit icon takes me to the top of the page with the new post(s).
2) The smaller icon to the left of the new post(s) is not lit.

I have to scroll down manually on the page and guess which posts are new, by looking at the time and date stamp. This can be tricky in topics with a high activity.

Has anyone else experienced this behavior? What could be the cause of it?

I have an Android phone with a DuckDuckGo browser. Like I said, all has worked well in the past, this new behavior started maybe two weeks ago. I browse other forums with similar functionality for unread posts, without problems.

Issue solved. Looks like it was connected to the log in problem. I thought I was logged in, but apparently wasn't, or got logged out without my knowledge.

Now I'm logged in, keep being it and the unread posts behavior is normal again 😃

markiteight wrote: 2024-11-14 21:44 When I first picked up the moderator torch I floated the idea to Fredrik of creating a definitive tutorial for learning and practicing the Tune Method, including comparison clips that highlight the concepts being discussed. He expressed enthusiasm for the idea but that's as far as things went. It's a daunting task and I'm not sure I'm qualified to do it, but I get the impression such a thing would be well received and useful. It seems like there aren't many dealers left performing Tune Dems for customers, so an online tutorial would be the next best option.
It can be an incremental task. The Playground allows many to contribute example clips and analyses over time, but it could be improved by something along the following lines:
  • Create a dedicated Tune Method sub forum
  • Add a pinned post with Fredrik's Tune Method description
  • Move the existing Tune Method threads to this sub forum
  • Provide somewhere to store clips long term - a service like Box or Google
  • Selected clips and analyses from the Playground could be copied or moved to a dedicated tutorial thread, so they are easy to find
The Moderation task would entail moving selected posts and clips when they provide good examples.

Maybe this and related posts belongs under the Forum section?
This is a great idea, Pete! I had gotten myself stuck on thinking of this project as separate from the Forum, but you made me realize that doing so would by silly when we have such a wealth of knowledge and experience right here. Fredrik and I are both enthusiastic about this idea, so watch this space!

In the mean time, I welcome any additional suggestions for content or links to existing discussions that people think would be worth including in a new Tune Method subforum.

This sounds like a great idea, especially as Linn also seems to have pretty much dropped doing tune method comparisons. I think the idea of having a long term storage place for clips is important. There are a number of people (my hand is raised) who aren't fond of paying monthly subscriptions for everything in the world. We tend to have to remove clips from Dropbox on a regular basis in order to put new ones up there. We don't want clips put in this section to disappear all the time.

At least this morning are several log-ins required for posting when a post is quoted.
Posting without quoting seems to be fine.

Another suggestion would be to have a Lejonklou in the media thread so that people could find all reviews and links to articles in one place. There is a Källa in the media but other units end up with reviews in one or another general thread. If desired sub-threads could be created for each of the products. I think it would also be worth pinning it.

I've been getting this a bit recently: "You were not logged out, as the request did not match your session. Please contact the board administrator if you continue to experience problems." Anyone else?

Also, was the login username changed to case sensitive?

Hi tokenbrit!

No changes have been made for more than a month. I have never seen the error you mention, but then I never log out. Do you log out and if so, why?

The last change that was made was that the protection level was lowered because of a decrease in the amount of attacks on the site. They vary enormously; in March they were less than a hundred each day but just now they’ve increased again to 1200/day.

Hi Fredrik, I log out as a courtesy, I guess. I don't keep cookies or browser history so, before I close the browser, I tend to log out so as to close the session on your web server(s). I could just leave it to your website server session cleanup processes, of course, but was just trying to be nice :)

The username case sensitivity was an odd one as I was having trouble logging in unless I matched my username case. I hadn't experienced that previously, but it's been on-off recently; from a little longer ago than a month... I put it down to case sensitivity as log in has been more reliable if I enter the username in lower case. Pretty sure I didn't have to do that before, and it I should/would have noticed because the phone keyboard tends to capitalise the first letter of the username field.

Edit: also getting 'invalid form' a few times when trying to log in despite dbl/trpl checking login details... reloading page usually does not solve, but restarting browser does, so not sure if it's a cache/cookie/session issue - any suggestions, or is it me :?
