Congrats on the 1.8 upgrade - I still need to get mine done - and thanks for the link on Spotify: I can get to know the recordings before 'rediscovering' after 1.8 :)

SM 1.8 uprade arrived an hour ago, now playing and still cold. It's over a month since I heard my system, and I was wondering if I would be able to hear the difference... YES!

I'm happy to read how well the upgrade is being praised. Unfortunately, I'm very late this time, as a herniated disc at the beginning of the year put a stop to my plans. The operation at the beginning of the week went well. However, lifting is one of the things I absolutely have to avoid in order not to endanger the healing process. So it will be another 3-4 weeks before I can finally take action on this.

The upgrades will be around for a while, so no real rush currently. Just take care of yourself and have a healthy recovery (plus you will have something to look forward to after recovery).

Cheers

Wishing you a good recovery, Hermann - that's far more important than lifting boxes to be couriered away to Uppsala. There was absolutely NOTHING wrong with my SMs before the upgrade... it's just that now, somehow, they have become even more musical. You have a treat in store, no rush :)

Nice video! I'm sending you healing energy and hope you feel better soon. I had lifting limitations after my triple-bypass surgery so I know where you are at. I am now close to 100% healed and am back to hauling around 50lb bags of bird seed and rock salt. The good news is that a packed Lejonklou amp only weighs 14lbs so it may not be long before you will be well enough to lift them. Get well soon.

Thank you very much for all the get well wishes. The video is really very uplifting, Beck. I know, Tom, that you are now feeling well again, but it is still a good example of what the medical profession can achieve today. My neurologist was very pleased with the healing process after 5 days. Just one day after the operation, I ran over 7,500 steps through the hospital. Exercise like this is part of the therapy.

At the moment, I am enjoying every pain-free minute after 2 months of pain, hardly any exercise and morphine-based medication that didn't really help. Fortunately, the time has passed and nerves grow back, as we know. It is also fortunate that the musculoskeletal system is not affected. And yes, I will remain patient until the process is complete.

Even though I once again have no idea how the SMS will improve musicality, I am extremely excited about the upgrade.

Best wishes for a quick recovery Hermann. Some of us are paying the dues that come with staying the course for a big chunk of a century!

Thanks for the warm well wishes, Pete. It is entirely possible that you pay a certain price for your lifestyle as you get older. In my case, possibly due to my initial manual work, which ended a little later in a degree in communications engineering. Perhaps a good move, as the physically demanding work could have caused significantly more damage. But that is pure speculation.
