Thanks for the insight, Tom. The switch from Källa/SMs1.7/TM3s/Isobarik to Linn Majik DS/Boazu1.3/Keilidh or back never disappoint me. Understand your description very well, even though I own the previous version. The Boazu1.3 does not deny the musical merits of Fredrik's devices. On the contrary, the amplifier in this setup always amazes me. A comparison of both version will be all the more interesting.

I was careful to specify Sagatun 1.4. I expect that Superkikkin/Tundra 2.5 and Sagatun 1.7/Tundra 2.5 will still musically outperform Boazu 2.

This line is very thin indeed I think.... Boazu2 is absolutely wonderfull! Ease of play, very nice natural flow, just sounding wonderfull. I do now know yet which combo is 'better', but this amp is again a no brainer if you are in the market for a very muscially driven integrated amp!

Also the very easy operation is perfect (no switching any more on the SK between two sources, that is a lot nicer than I thought!

I thought so, or expected so to, but then Boazu2 started singing....

What a box of wonders, Frederik you keep amazing me, I was at Sopper yesterday and the Boazu2 shares so many similarities with the TM3, the music just floats through the room. Of course the combination of Sopper with Sagatun Mono and TM3 combination is a step ahead, but the Boazu2 is so close.

My Tundra 2.5 & Superkikkin combo is also very, very good, and brings a bit more foundation, the Boazu2 brings more 'live music' experience, all going to be judged on personal preference, but boy this small integrated amplifier is a thing.....

Thank you for sharing your impressions, Mitmu!

I'm so happy the Boazu 2 is being well received so far. In September I'm going to build a lot more of them. Orders are coming in and I'm still on vacation. Was a bit restless for the first two weeks, but now I'm starting to calm down and fully enjoy it. By September I will likely be totally at ease and then it's time to return and start creating again!

Boazu 2 has been limited in supply. I want to apologize to those of you who have been waiting. Thank you for your patience!

I have just picked up ten new units from Mitac. I hope to complete and ship at least five of them in the coming week. Doing more than one each day is possible but unlikely, as the process is time consuming. It involves between one and three cycles of:
Heating up for 2 hours,
Measuring,
Adjusting by changing transistors,
Heating up for 2 hours,
Measuring,
Adjusting by changing resistors.
[repeat from beginning until all parameters are within spec].

Marco kindly sent me his Boazu 1.3 s/n 094, on which I'm about to test a new 1.x-version. But first I made some clips with it.

Source Källa,
Speakers Klångedang T1,
Cables Linn Silver Mk 2 to Boazu and K248 with Linn Knekt to speakers,
Rack Harmonihyllan Tor in spruce with Reference bottom shelf.
Both Boazu's had been running overnight before the respective clips were recorded and they are using the same power cord, the same position in the strip and standing on the same shelf. Essentially I've tried to keep everything identical apart from the change of amplifier.

Here is Boazu 1.3 versus Boazu 2.0:

Very nice upgrade and cool looking system.

Just thinking how great it is to have a manufacturer post clips like this. Very useful for those of us accustomed to evaluating this way.

Even played through my phone or iPad speakers the 2 really shines compared to the 1.3. Love the jaunty track. As a 1.1 owner I’m intrigued by an upgrade possibility, tho 2 is obviously v much of interest.

This is a big step up! The Boazu is obviously great but it sounds muddled and less confident in comparison to the Boazu 2.
I own version 1.1 where the difference is probably even bigger.

It’s clear that they share their dna, but the step up in musicality is significant and, judging by the video, is something that would become even more noticeable over time. Well done Fredrik!

It is really good indeed, I have my Boazu2 now for two weeks and now it really starts to open up, it does need some serious buring in time for it to shine (similar to TM3), but for me it outperforms my previous SK-Tundra 2.5 combo :)

Thank you all for your comments!

I’m wondering whether I should always post clips like this when an upgrade or a new product is released. I’ve thought about it before, but the period around introductions is usually so hectic. And making accurate clips requires time and space.

The Boazu 1.3 is now upgraded to 1.5. Further upgrades have proven to result in inconsistent benefits and they also require a lot of rework, which becomes expensive. I’m leaning towards stopping at 1.5, which will be very cost effective.

Will post clips later!

What a great post with the clips, Fredrik!
The 1.3 is no slouch but the 2.0 is more distinct, engaging and easier to follow the interplay of elements (musical!). Easier to follow singer and choir, bass notes etc. Feel more connected with the piece with 2.0.
Congratulations!
And great with these clips.

A little late to the party. Yes, the difference is huge and, as expected, more musical than the previous version. Congratulations Fredrik!
