Have to say that I disagree with this decision. Text can be very easily misinterpreted, especially when you have people using a language which is not their mother tongue. A simple smiley makes it easier to indicate that a post is intended to be humorous, and can avoid people taking offence and replying quickly with something which inflames a misunderstanding.
I agree that there is no need for twenty different types of smiley, but to me a simple "smile" and "laugh" option is worth having. If you get rid of the automatic smileys then I'll just wind up typing :) or :-) or even :D at the end of my posts and people will have to run their head sideways to work them out!

Disagreement noted!
I agree the main use is to clarify that the writer was joking. But :) or ;) works just as well in this case and in my opinion, they are actually better than the yellow faces. Why? Due to the character combinations being more of a representation, and less of an actual face. I think that the closer smileys get to a real face - imagine using tiny photographs! - the more we'll get really tired of seeing the same faces and the less nuanced they will become.
Our thought was that character combinations will be used more when needed, when actually adding something to the message. Let's see how it works out, it's easy to bring the yellow ones back.

Thanks... :D
I´l have to ask Fredrik about that!!! :-)
Recently he has taken so very good care of my LP12 with a new Akiva, so I´m very happy with him (as always -a real treasure for me to have him located in my town).
And long time since a post here, but I have been occupied playing and enyoying my music collection with my new (black) Komris... together with a very special pair of Solos... ;-)

Yes, I think black Komri are very rare. I don´t know how may pairs all togther have been made of Komri. I´ve heard a figure about aprox. 100 pairs...!? and only a small procent of them are black.Charlie1 wrote:Very nice too! Didn't know you could get Komri in black. There are none to see on Google. Must be rare.

After Michael Fremer's rave review of our moving magnet phono stages Slipsik 5.1 and KINKI3, in the October issue of Stereophile, visits to this forum have gone through the roof.
From between 600 and 700 individual visits per day on average, it's now over 2000. Every day!
I am happy and surprised. Many thanks to Michael Fremer and Thomas O'Keefe (well known North American distributor who supplied Stereophile with what they needed) for this boost.
And a big Thank You to everyone who contributes to the growing pool of knowledge that we're gathering in here. This forum is so much more than a simple chat forum with random opinions.
It's a resource.
