Re: Amplification options
I did do the KDS/1 to KDS/2 and remember it as being significant, although not anywhere as profound as going from KRDS/0 to KDS/1 - that really was some upgrade. Apparently KDS/2 to KDS/3 is also a huge upgrade. I agree that the Tundra Mono 2 upgrade was a great upgrade although I have a feeling tha...

Re: Amplification options
The digital volume control on KDS/1 ( KRDS/1) is really quite poor - so my advice is to keep with an analogue preamp. Boazu is an incredibly good integrated amp and a great option, if that falls within your budget. Sagatun and Tundra stereo worth it if you can stretch to it. I would not bother with ...

Re: Slipsik 6
It appears that one can't go wrong with any LP12 upgrade as long as it is either Linn or Lejonklou approved - and Gaio or Slipsik 6 may be the 'best value for money/ ease of installation' upgrades for an LP12 with Adikt.
Re: Slipsik 6
That is the best recommendation for any upgrade and a sure sign that there has been a significant step up in musical enjoyment. Since upgrading the power supply to my Majik LP12, I have been listening to my limited collection of vinyl most days, compared to once a week prior to the change, and am al...
Re: Slipsik 6
These reports are making me seriously consider replacing my gaio, and leaving the arm for later.
However the Lejonklou MC stage developments have aroused my curiosity and I might see just how good this will be with Krystal, before deciding.

Re: A surprise outcome....
It would be interesting to know how Sagatun stereo compares with Katalyst DVC, or even Boazu.
Boazu certainly does not get tiring and was very enjoyable with my KDS/2, when filling in for the recent Sagatun Mono Tarandus upgrades.

Re: A surprise outcome....
Can you confirm you have actual heard the katalyst DVC against an AK1. Only compared AK/1 with DVC on KDS/1 ( which was truly awful) and my KDS/2 ( much better but only at vol 50-60, beyond this the musicality falling off a cliff) I had forgotten about the KDS/3 I am afraid, and would love to compa...

Re: A surprise outcome....
Owning the AK/1 (better than DVC) and A2200/1 (better than M6100) combo, my concern regards the risk that a Sagatun/Tundra stereo could be for me a side-moving or a small leap forward, M. Think of it as a move to Linn Klimax level ( KK / Klimax solos ) and you will realise it would be a huge leap i...

So I'm now awaiting delivery of Sagatun Monos and a Tundra...... Great move - you are going to start appreciating just how good your music really is. If it was me - I would resist the overpowering urge to hook up all three amps at the same time, and just connect the Tundra - and be astonished at wh...

Re: The future?
Charlie 1 I thought one just needed a Linn DS with Exact links to use Urika 2, and that one could stay all analogue thereafter? A bit easier to compare after all then, but you'd want to ensure the same torques on the deck or decks. However, I just can't see the point for non-Exakt owners. When did ...

Re: The future?
The future will be the same as the present and recent past. Digital making huge strides but always a good distance behind analogue. I think both are great currently but with the best recordings - there is a certain magic with analogue that digital cannot quite match. The more digital components in t...

Re: Old K400 (split) vs New K200
I think most current Linn speakers 'below' the 350s sound great with a good Linn source and Lejonklou amps, especially single wired with K400s and Linn interconnects. Akkubarik and Akudorik look and sound really good, but I prefer the old 242s to both, and your wife would likely find them all cosmet...

Re: Tundra 2.0 (A?) vs. Majik DSM/1 integrated Amp @ Majik 109s
Here is something else to consider. A Lejonklou integrated amp ( Boazu) and exchange your MDSM for whichever model of KRDS you can stretch to. Klimax front end - analogue lejonklou preamp - and lejonklou pwer amp will be in a different league to MDSM, or even MDSM/ Tundra. I have found digital volum...

The Lejonklou amps sound really good with most of Linns speakers - but with 242s just fantastic.

Re: Tundra 2.2 vs Linn C4200/D and KCT/D
Pre amplifiers have always been crucial in my systems.
Kolektor to AK/1 was transformational as was AK/1 to Sagatun Monos.
A temporary switch from AK/1 to the internal DVC of the KDS/1 was shockingly bad and the worst my system has ever sounded.

Huge difference and I am struggling to find any redeeming features without KK.
