Re: Recommended network components

The first time I heard RTFM, I asked what it meant. I was told: "please read the manual...." I was puzzled for a few seconds.

Re: Follow-up: MinimServer; Asset, or ?

David Neel is using & prefers Asset The comparison was quite a few years ago, in the early days of LSNAS, and this thread has inspired me to try minimserver again. It was supposed to be a back-to-back comparison, but... After a week away, my LSNAS wouldn't restart properly, so I figured I'd use the...

Re: Hermanns System

I agree that this is a difficult comparison. I was originally (very) marginally drawn towards C-2, but not at all sure. Then I listened again was quite sure - that I couldn't decide. So I've given it 24 hours and tried again. This time it's C-1. It doesn't seem to do the hifi quite as well, but I'm ...

Re: Recommended network components

It was a very long time ago since I compared powering the router and the switch from the same power strip. I have forgotten if there's an advantage to it. Does anyone want to share their experience with this? I'm using a Huawei/EE 4G (sim card) router. I had the GS108T psu plugged directly into the...

Re: Hermanns System

When I listened to Källa, my network was seriously unoptimised. It still beat my LP12 and a KDS/2. And I wanted one on musical grounds, which was not my reaction when I heard Organik DSM. It's just a bonus that I've now optimised my network before it arrives. OK, but following the discussion here I...

Re: Hermanns System

Nonsense. I have a different setup than the recommended at my lab and it sounds better than any streamer I've heard there. When I listened to Källa, my network was seriously unoptimised. It still beat my LP12 and a KDS/2. And I wanted one on musical grounds, which was not my reaction when I heard O...

No, it hasn't got the capability. Using Spotify client controlled from the ipad, and Kazoo to play from the LSNAS.

I'm cycling the battery rather than leaving it plugged in, because the nearest power socket isn't very close. Currently in use with Hakai. I have an android tablet for other uses.

Re: Lejonklou and Harbeth?

I would suggest that a Lejonklou preamplifier (including the Boazu section) is always going to be more musical than a DVC. And that Källa will be more musical than any Linn streamer - strong words I know, but I have heard DSM Organik and preferred the LP12 (with Radikal/1), whereas my own very simil...

I don't have access to my Hakai at the moment - is it possible that you have a settings file on your Hakai - Spotify client that defaults to Autoplay on and overrides your control point? Thanks! Re: Analogue man tries to master Spotify

If Autoplay is off, it may be how you are selecting the album - it should work if you select the album only, making sure it's not part of a wider set of search results. Album only should stop after the last track; if the album was somehow part of a wider result set, Spotify will keep on playing thr...

Thank you. I've done this, and got repeat deselected. At the end of an album, Spotify then immediately plays something else which I have not selected.

Analogue man tries to master Spotify

One of the reasons I gave up streaming after a brief trial of Tidal some years ago is that I like to listen to albums rather than tracks. All my digital listening so far has been to CD or CD ripped to LSNAS, where I can select an album to play, and rely on it playing in the correct sequence, followe...

If I could only choose one product, I would choose five Tundra Stereos.

Would probably be a boost from the current playback solution I have.
And what would be wrong with ten Tundra Monos?!
