Re: Tonearm for LP12
If you are considering the Naim Aro, the EKOS II should not be missing. A few years ago I had both arms and two identical LP12s. Equipped with prefix, Hi & supercap, Armagedon and Norton PS, they played Troika, Karma and Arkiv in both arms. The decision was easy for me, the Ekos was better in the lo...

Isobarik Torques?
Thank you Ron for sharing your experiences. First of all, I have a very late pair of speakers with original drivers. By the way, since 1997, bought them used but they where new! The HT are the Linn with two circles. It is correct that seems to be a longer process. The difference was clearly heard at...

Re: Which is the optimal length of speaker wires?
Hi Fredrik, As long as the music plays, an answer is not unconditional immediately and urgently necessary. A solution is found. I've been experimenting with cables for over 40 years. There were really very experimental constructions, such as the shielding of antenna cable (back in the 70th) for loud...
Re: Entity MC
Thanks Fredrik As far as I remember, Naim's prefix "K" already had 560 ohms/470pF and has been obvious optimized for Linn Carts Found this for Naim Prefix: 'S': 100uV / 470ohms 'K': 100uV / 560ohms 'E': 400uV / 400ohm Anyway, the prefix played with some Troikas, Karmas, Arkivs, and the Kandid. Altho...
Re: Entity MC
I read the information with great interest, even though I own a Naim Superline and do not intend to trade it. But from time to time I put music systems together for others. Well, I am considering switching from used Naim components to Frederiks products in this regard. I am surprised by the resistan...

At EKOS/SE I've set it by ear. Since this memory comes just to determine that my ears despite my age are in order.

Re: Torqued equipment...
The Tool is really very expensive in Germany, sometimes even over 400 euros. Interesting, as you describe it. Because my first setting was exactly the tone arm height lock screw. Started with the value of 1.6Nm +1 and varies up and down. But the recommended value was right. Therefore, my tool seems ...

I found my Sturtevant Richmont CAL 36/4 after a longer search on e-bay for a very good price ($ 95 incl delivery) in excellent condition. The new price in Germany is over 350 euros!
It's worth watching the tool on e-bay and get informed by mail.

For 1.5 years now my LP12 has been continuously upgraded. The reason was initially a broken Norton power supply. Since I had not seen a dealer for a long time, I had to choose one. I also wanted to hear the actual status of the LP12. The demo blew me away immediately. I had not heard LP12 playing th...

Naim Audio uses I-Sheng power cable as standard. Probably easy to find on ebay. As far as I know are they relatively cheap.

Re: Radikal speed problem
I remember a circus upgrade long time ago. The plate bearing was too tightly tolerated. The result was a slightly jumping / wriggling turntable after a spinning time of 2-3 days. The plate bearing was replaced and the mistake disappeared.

Re: Radikal speed problem
I’ve heard this sometimes happens when the LP12 is left on spinning for a long period like 24 hours. Sometimes resolved by doing the reset as you have done, follows by repeated on and off switching; eventually the deck calibrates and the LEDs fade. Almost as if the speed controller needs a few star...

Re: Optimal length of speaker wires
Is there a correlation between the optimal length of speaker wires and the length of the power cable? No, nothing indicates a correlation between these two. The best power cord I currently supply (on my small units such as Gaio and Slipsik) is a UK version from Volex. It's 3 m long and making it sh...

I've allowed myself to make the list a bit different. Hope that's ok.
My values are now corrected
1.75, 1.98, 1.59, 1.76
The abbreviations are ITF - Indicated Tracking Force, MTF - Measured TF, BTF - Best sounding TF, AS - Anti-Skating.

Re: From lingo 4 to radikal?
The outstanding feature of the L4 (IMHO) is timing. Do you think the timing is better with L4 than Radikal? From my point of view, slightly better. I could easily live with L4 if I had never heard the same setup with the radical. Timing was not necessarily my intention to buy the radical. Simply pu...

Re: From lingo 4 to radikal?
I did this step a couple of months ago and have no regrets. Since the Norton PS had died, a solution had to be found. The Lingo 4 was on offer at that time. Later exchanged the Ekos for Ekos/SE and added the Kandid and Keel. I still had the music in my head with Radikal from the demo. I could not re...
