Re: Playground for practical listening exercises

Sounds like you are covering the microphones when recording? I lean towards Brasso. Exactly what I was thinking, it's an error I have made in the past. You have to be careful how you hold the phone/tablet to make sure that you don't partially cover one of the microphones. Also when recording in lan...

Re: Opinion LINN LINGO1 v, LINN LINGO 2,3

Ah, OK, the "12 volt Lingos" refers to those powering the 12 volt AC motor. That would make the Lingo 4 a "24 volt Lingo"! Hi Keith, That is what confused me. The Lingo 4 uses a 12 Volt motor, all the previous ones use a standard 120/240 Volt motor with a 50Hz size pulley. That motor can actually r...

Re: Vinyl Revival

I just came out of a tiny record shop in Stroud Gloucestershire that was packed with 20-somethings buying vinyl from the 70s and 80s. The last time I experienced this, I was one of the 20-somethings, and it was the 80s. Plus I bought 3 albums for a total of £15. It's like I'd time travelled back ne...

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises

I'm liking the sound of that quite a bit although I didn't compare it to anything. I'm not sure how it would work in this case but I think it might be best with one set of washers facing the other direction than the other set. In other words either the flat side or the non-flat side contacting the s...

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises

I was wondering about the difference in the washer surface area too. You definitely want to try the washer both ways, it can make a significant difference and the washers on Lejonklou equipment do have a proper orientation, even those between the rubber feet and the case on the full size gear.

Re: Opinion LINN LINGO1 v, LINN LINGO 2,3

The early Lingo 2 was the Lingo 1 innards in a wider case. The later Lingo 2 had the new surface mount main board in the wider case and was supposedly superior. The Lingo 3 (2.5) was the later Lingo 2 innards in the even wider case. So there were really only 2 of the 12 volt Lingos (1 and 2.5) The ...

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises

Yes, I should have mentioned that the system with brass sounded quite good. Even though I am just listening through a MacPro (although admittedly into a pair of JBL LSR305 mk1) I played the brass clip all the way to the end twice. It was just very enjoyable and I know that track quite well.

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises

I'm definitely digging the brass more than the steel. Despite being a harder and brighter metal I find the steel to sound a bit sluggish rhythmically and a bit dull as well. The brass moves (flows) better and the instruments sound more like quality instruments well played than on the steel.

Jamtown wrote: 2024-01-04 20:29 how does this unit stack up to the Superkikkin?
The Superkikkin is a little more musical overall than the Sagatun stereo 1.3/4 but if upgraded with the 1.7 components Fredrik and I feel the Sagatun stereo is a bit more musical overall. You definitely won't go wrong with either.

Where I am there was still 6 hours to go but even so I didn't realize I nailed it right on the hour. Maybe I should buy a lottery ticket (although a big one was just won in Grand Blanc, Michigan, whe...

I mentioned yesterday in another thread that we would be starting out the year with a really fine Boazu review. I didn’t realize we would be actually starting out the year with it but we did as it posted today! Here is the link: https://enjoythemusic.com/magazine/equipment/0124/Lejonklou_Boazu_Stere...

Happy new year too! Owning Lejonklou devices is more like owning artisanal musical instruments than consumer electronics, and the knowledge of the care and precision that goes in to making each one adds to the enjoyment that the music brings. I fully agree with what is said here and above by Herman...

Yes, there are 100 being built. Numbers are sequential whether US, UK or Europe and those listed (30-35) are higher than what I have here. I expect the 100 should last for a reasonable amount of time.
